EIS is very useful on eliminating shakiness for video recording. On the other side, EIS doesn't function for still images while OIS can be also use for reducing shakiness on video recording but not as well as EIS.

Remember those good old times when the addition of T to OnePlus the model name actually meant an upgrade in terms of processor and storage speeds.

OIS - Optical Image Stabilization
For cameras, it makes a big difference. OIS and EIS both can do a good job for stabilizing the image while recording video, however EIS will not work with still-frame pictures because there is nothing that is mechanically moving to compensate for your hand shaking/moving. EIS also crops out the sides and tops of video to make it look like the video you are recording is less shaky. OIS does not do this, as it is physically moving to compensate for these issues. Therefore, OIS is nicer than EIS in multiple ways, but it's difficult to fit OIS in a smartphone and it uses extra space that could be used for the battery and other internals.

"Never Settle"
Buying this phone is literally settling. I don't understand how they can even use that tagline. Want a MicroSD slot? Like waterproofing? Do you find removable batteries helpful? Do you like charging wirelessly?
Well too bad. We won't offer any of that, you'll just have to settle.
I feel like I'd have to "settle" the hardest with this phone over any other. What a joke.

OnePlus, just like Apple and Huawei were not able to deliver last generation OLED displays. But OnePlus have the excuse of costing only 50% of competition. Apple and Huawei have no excuse.

Honestly was going to get this, but just noticed my Oneplus 3T has 100mAh more battery, though it may not be much, it's still a bitch move to be considered a so-called upgrade and rather just keep my 3T until I see something else, plus I don't want people to think I have a shitty iPhone 7 anyway lool

Damn the screen won't come with a rounded curve edges like the S8 so so disappointed. Even the much cheaper Redmi Note 5 is designed to have a curve rounded screen on the four edges and the edges on the oppo f5 is a little bit curve This phone is just Gona look like vivo v7 plus, honor 9i (the list goes on and on) and any kind of cheap bezel less cell phones these days.

For 500 bucks, this phone is a beast. Normally phones like this is above 700 bucks.
This phone's price is half of iPhone X with nearly the same features.
iPhone X has only one thing better than 5T ; Water resistance
It's impressive to see phones like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Essential which are bang for the buck phones.

Can someone tell me what's so special about EIS? Is it better than OIS? What's the advantages and disadvantages of having EIS camera? Does EIS improve low light photography? Lastly why did Oneplus choose EIS?

The face unlock is crazy fast , but that means its probably very less secure
2D though, so a picture will unlock it easily
The telephoto lens is gone, so zooming in will be bad, even though OP claims software zoom will keep the quality intact, but its never gonna be as good as hardware
And lastly, the fact that the battery is the same despite the bigger screen worries me about the battery life
The phone is splash resistant like OP5 , so its not all bad
