I think ... moreYou are absolutely rite. OnePlus devices are becoming expensive every year. But so as other companies devices.
As you mentioned in Germany I would have definitely bought S9 as the cost difference is negligible. But its not the same everywhere.
In India OP6 base varient costs almost 340$ lesser than S9. In these cases and taking update history of samsung after their next Flagship device OP6 is the better option.
PS: I do have an S7 edge for my secondary device. And I am not a fanboy of any manufacturer. I just give credit where it belongs.

It's like saying someone always playing on PC would switch to console because it's cheaper. Or someone loving his Mercedes would buy a Skoda because it has better value.

In Germany:
OnePlus 6: 520 €
Galaxy S9: 550 €
I think we all know which one a normal person who didn't fall for OnePlus advertising on YouTube would pick.
The problem is
1. OnePlus phones aren't as cheap as they were in the past because the OnePlus One costed € 300 and this one € 520
2. There are almost no stores selling this phone, so there is no price competition between stores and the price stays the same. The price of S9 fell from € 850 at start to € 542 by now. The price of OnePlus 6 stayed € 520 over a month, and isn't likely to get cheaper anytime soon. If you say that OnePlus 6 was only selling for one month, then the S9 still fell in price that month, because last month, it was € 590.
And I'm not a Samsung fanboy or anything, I use an iPhone and iPad and Mac and Apple Watch and all that. I picked the S9 because it's just the benchmark in the Android world, which in theory means you pay more for it. So I could show that the "flagship killer" is not that much cheaper than a much better phone.

this is a really solid package, I have been a nexus 4,5,6p user this phone is unreal, minimal bloatware, more like slight tweaks to the UI..battery life is unreal..its is supposed be water resist but not certified like Iphone's were when they came out with water resist features.

It survived to ... moreOk no I was wrong, 30sek, 1min, then 5min in a bowl. only problem was speaker and a little blurr in front camera. Then 30 min in 1meter of water in a pool. Worked but acted wierd and was a lot of water inside. After 2 weeks you could see the water damage and the phone was dead.So DO NOT drop this in water or swim with it. It can survive rain and fast drops in water. Would not recommend anything esle!

It survived to be in water for like 5 minutes without problem. Then he tried 30 minutes and first test was in a bowl and the front camera got a little blurry. After that he tested 1 meter for 30 minutes and the phone got alot of water inside, still worked but both cameras had become really blurry because of water. He then said he will completely dry it and after 2 weeks of non use the phone it was dead and all that worked was the vibration.
So with that said, do not swim with this phone or drop it in water for a long time! It can handle rain and quick drops in water.

Teardown reveals OnePlus 6 is indeed water-resistant even if it lacks IP rating :
ooks like OnePlus wasn't bluffing when they said that its latest flagship phone OnePlus 6 was water resistant alright even if it lacked a formal IP rating certification. JerryRigEverything, a YouTube channel known for its teardown videos of gadgets, has opened the OnePlus 6 and has found that it has "the same protection that other IP67 phones have".
This is something that was earlier highlighted by the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, , and the company's Co-founder, Carl Pei during the launch of the phone. Talking to India Today Tech ahead of the launch, Lau had said, "The OnePlus 6 is a water-resistant phone for all practical purposes. We tested it in shallow water and in rain (even if) it doesn't come with an IP67 rating."

As a tech reviewer I often get asked by friends and family which phone they should buy. My answer for the past three years has almost always been the latest OnePlus device, despite opting personally for something from Huawei, LG or Samsung through the years.
I’m not trying to give dishonest advice; it’s just that I’m that hard core phone nerd who wants the absolute best phone possible no matter the price – and I take a lot of photos at night. For most normal consumers who just need a phone as a communication/web surfing device, the OnePlus 6’s price is a good example of the law of diminishing returns.

One plus 6 has beaten samsung s9+ and iphone x like phones seriuosly this is the best phone in the category .
Its seriously a flagship killer.Its a beast in andoid smartphone category.
If you have a budget of atleast 30k then extend your budget and go for the this phone blindly.

I don't have the phone myself but the options should be in Settings -> Battery -> (Something called battery optimization, saver etc.). Turn off any optimizations and restart those apps.

I m a businessmen and it's very compulsory that I should have a call recorder and true caller.i have purchased both true caller and call recorder but ever though they are not working properly in one plus six.only one plus phones have this problem please help me out with this problems
