Modest upgrade makes for a soft desire.
855 is latest, but slow development is making it long in the tooth.
Just about everything else is glitz, or "me too" feature upgrades.
Hard to excite. Let's see what the "T" has to offer.

Headphone jack, when I saw this, I thought the same like you, but in reallity, this way it´s better, that you need a cable, it´s more independent, I can ensure.
Wireless charge, I don´t understand what´s the point to have your phone in a base, when the most times you can´t use the device. I only view a good term when you use this function in a car.
The camera, well.... this point I can´t say you so much, it´s a real factor that this isn´t the best, but, why you want an incredible camera in a phone? and what device can offer you a professional result like a professional camera? at least, that you are a selfie maniatic or a something like this.
And the point of all of this factos, it´s the price, you understand that the processer power its almost, if not the same, like a high cost flagship? This is all, if you want all this features in your phone, only pay the double.

People that have iPhones always say they want apple to make the phone ticker and add battery. I'm one of them having used an iPhone 4S, 5 and SE.

OnePlus devices have always offered great value for the money, but their cameras weren't quite up to par when compared to what Google, Huawei, and Samsung offer. That's going to have to change with the OnePlus 7 Pro for the device to succeed and it seems like no TOF camera

8.8mm is super thick. Right now folks laugh at my 6T with 8.2mm. Mi 9 with 7.6mm looks much cooler. 188g? Too bad. Where's wireless charging? Where's qualcomm charging? Y'all think i'm gonna buy tons of new chargers?

I agree it's interesting but I think your boy won't win the science fair this year, there're many others breakthroughs in tech this year. Other than that the big displays used for different devices are setting up the bar of what is possible to be done with display. Look at CES this year... BTW, I don't need 90Hz on my phone, I prefer to have a lower frequency, better power consumption display and/or good balance so I can enjoy my mobile phone on long trips without charging - everybody has got different needs I agree, starting a new trend to desperate for innovation consumers also is agreeable, we saw happening with less useful stuff; but, call this innovation not so sure.

OnePlus 7 looks like a rebranding of 6t and the 7 pro will be around $1000. Zenfone 6 might be a better option for me.
