Please stop whining about the missing 3.5 jack. It's not 2015 anymore and if you can fork out 700 USD for a handset, surely you can manage another 30 USD for some wireless earbuds? Same complaints over and over again.

Same thing about the expandable storage. SD card in a phone will eventually bring you problems.

I don't get why so much hate on this phone, I'm not a fan of oneplus, never owned any, but this one on paper looks pretty good. The 3.5 jack isn't a thing from oneplus since almost 2 years. We've got a great processor, great screen, good battery and charging speeds, if the price for base model 8/128 is 699 euros (don't think will be lower at least in Europe)will be great. We have the S20 fe 5g for 730 and its a weaker phone. My opinion.

AnonD-948658, 11 Oct 2020No jack saves space which can be used for other components.... moreWhich explains why phones like the Xperia 5 II are smaller and lighter but still has both a micro sd card slot and a headphone jack. What exactly are they saving the space for? Whether it's fast or not, it's nice to be able to expand your storage and it's convenient to have a headphone jack built in, especially at the prices they're charging nowadays. Apple started these stupid trends and now every other manufacturer thinks they have an excuse to put an ugly ass hole/notch, leave out the sd slot, and 3.5mm jack, etc but still raise the price. I'm waiting for LG to make a phone with a high refresh rate screen then I'll be done looking for a phone for a few years.

You probably cry over lack of sd card slots too which are slow and less secure. Most people move on to newer technologies with time.

Oneplus at this point does not even know either why are they making this phone, but just for tradition as every year a t varient comes in the end, everything that this phone has, is already available in op8 and 8 pro, only charging is faster

I get that most people switch phones within 2 years of use but I'm really hoping OnePlus will announce that they will extend their software updates up to 3 years. That's all I'm gonna be waiting for the event. I hope they do.

Kams, 08 Oct 2020some people are still looking for 3.5 Jack.. wondering why.... moreI don't mind buying 2 years old handset as long as I am getting 3.5mm Jack. And it has nothing to do with Technology but pure crony business mind only. Removing 3.5mm Jack does not provide anything which cannot be achieved when it's present. They just want you to spend $200 and buy Bluetooth headset. And the kind of headset they have, I am not comfortable with them at all. On top of that, using Bluetooth headset has negative impact on body too.

How can everyone be so quick to judge an unreleased product?

                                      1. Most of the people with the strongest negative opinions were probably never going to buy the phone anyway
                                      2. Stop comparing the 8t to the 8pro, its a successor to the 8.
                                      3. Stop complaining about no headphone jack. Oneplus sells wireless earbuds and if they add a headphone jack, then that brings down sales in that department.
