OnePlus announces new program to deal with green line issue

OnePlus today announced a program to address the green-line issue affecting the AMOLED display models in the company's lineup. This issue has become widely reported among users, particularly those from India, and this three-step plan aims to tackle that.

Called the 'OnePlus Green Line Worry-Free Solution', the program will address the green line issue — which the company claims is due to a combination of factors rather than a single cause — by enhancing the display structure, making rigorous quality control checks, and offering an extended warranty on the display.

Starting with the first step, all OnePlus AMOLED displays will now feature Enhanced Edge Bonding Layer, which utilizes PVX edge-sealing material. The PVX layer acts as a barrier, significantly slowing moisture and oxygen penetration over time, thereby extending the lifespan of the display.

Second, the company is conducting rigorous quality control checks, with over 180 tests simulating extreme real-world conditions. The displays are also subjected to what the company calls 'Double 85' test, which exposes the display to 85°C heat and 85% humidity for extended periods of time.

Finally, OnePlus is offering lifetime warranty against the green line issue on all its smartphone models, new and old, and is the first brand to do so. If your device has this problem, it will get a new display even if the phone itself is out of warranty.

The dreaded green line issue has been a problem for devices using an AMOLED panel. This has affected multiple brands, including Samsung, Google, Vivo, Nothing, Motorola, and more. The exact cause of this issue remains unknown and as OnePlus mentions, is likely due to a combination of factors. If your device has this issue, contact the manufacturer regardless of if it's under warranty or not.

They are not dealing with it, they just pretend to do so. I have the issue and they are far from being helpful. Bought Chinese version but I reside in EU and they are declining any help. I won't but OnePlus anymore.

Ehem Samsung, Maybe they need to Learn and give Customer Lifetime warranty on thier Screen line problem too.
