OnePlus to invest $30M for 5G development
We recently heard the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro devices will have 5G, and today a press release by the company founder promised even bigger commitment to the next-gen connectivity. The smartphone brand will invest $30 million to push 5G research and development forward.
In the press release, Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, revealed his company has been investing in 5G for years and it will keep going to further develop application scenarios based on the daily usage habits of users. This includes cloud gaming, cloud videos, cloud storage services.
The latest 5G phone by OnePlus - the 7T Pro McLaren EditionThe OnePlus’ 5G labs will focus mainly on achieving better user experiences on OnePlus devices. The scope of their work includes R&D in RF circuits, antennas and multimedia like camera, audio, and display.
The goal of this investment is for OnePlus to provide full 5G support in all its upcoming devices and to make that properly useful for the day to day usage. The OnePlus 8 and the Pro variant should arrive in the next month or two, but the company is yet to start teasing anything particular specs-wise.

LOL just marketing.... 30 millions? Companys like Huawei, Samsung, Qualcomm or Apple invest xx billions to compete in 5G tech.
