As for the updates manufacturers can have whatever plans they want the fact is OnePlus does it faster and objectively better that anyone of them.( like I said not considering Google)
With that said it does not mean next year I will go with oneplus again just because they have nice software. And I'm egarly waiting to see if they can keep the new UI that comes with Android 11 as smooth and the updates coming as fast as before . If not they really are no different from the competition.

Google can make it feature rich if they want but, will do so only if it'll not hinder the performance of their Operating System. Google adds new features to their newer Android versions and their Stock UI only after optimising it properly.
Releasing Android updates depends on various Strategies of different manufacturers which is beyond the scope of our discussion. Everything can't and shouldn't be dealt here.

Subramanian CN, 05 Oct 2020I think you are very late in choosing Nord, because there w... moreDidn't buy the 7t or 8 because they are just to big for me and last year I experimented with the iPhone 11 to see if I like Ios( major no for me ). So I got the nord that is at around my maximum size preference ( maybe a bit to big) and will get the update for 11 relatively fast.
You are right my exprimation was wrong when I talked about android in general.
Now that you mention UI another OnePlus advantage is they're light skin so added to the fact that they have a lot less devices to support they have a light skin that will make the process even faster compared to Samsung .
My opinion still is that OnePlus overall does and will always offer better , longer and more refined support to their devices that any other android phone manufacturer.
Nord is already in closed beta phase for android 11 with stable version to be release by the end of the year.
I'll wait eagerly to see when samsung will release such a version for their phones in the same price range.
Having had multiple samsung devices and one OnePlus before in no way does One UI come close to Oxygen os( besides maybe os support if samsung will be able to keep it's 3 years update promise). One UI is heavy and clunky. I had an s9 and at the end of it's year the UI was a mess of studders and UI crashes. While they might have changed in those 2 years I do not believe they got a lot better in anyway

PaulMihai, 05 Oct 2020Because 90% of people will not change the phone yearly like... moreI think you are very late in choosing Nord, because there were many good devices released with Android 10 before Nord and you should've already gone with one of those Android 10 devices and now, you should actually be waiting for an Android 11 device, according to your reply. If you are a fan of OxygenOS you should have already chosen OnePlus 7T or OnePlus 7T Pro which had Android 10, as inferred by me, from your reply. If you had chosen 7T or 7T Pro, Nord can't be a better device for you. Moreover, at the time of release of OnePlus 7T, no one knew about Nord.
With the introduction of Project Treble by Google, Android updates have become easier like eating chocolates, for manufacturers. The pain only lies in developing a new ROM for a new device. But, giving Android updates for them is just like copying files to a pen drive. But, most of the manufacturers are reluctant to give Android updates just because, it would cannibalize the sales of their new devices.
For your information, Samsung is a huge manufacturer and supplier of various products and components to various manufacturers. If OnePlus can afford to manage 10 devices an year, Samsung can manage 10000 devices an year. I learnt from www that Samsung is going to manufacture future Snapdragon Processors for Qualcomm.
Coming to optimization, it has nothing to do with the features of UI. The actual optimization of Android is taken care of by Google. The manufacturers who implement Android with their own Custom UI, takes care of the optimization of just their UI. To be honest, though I am not a fan of One UI and truly admit that OxygenOS is way too good, I will say that One UI is more optimised than OxygenOS. If interested you may check it for yourself. Also, check, whether Samsung has promised to give Android updates for 3 years

Subramanian CN, 05 Oct 2020Excellent. There is an advantage here for the manufacturers... moreBecause 90% of people will not change the phone yearly like I do so for them the update situation should be, in my opinion, top 3 in terms of the factors considered in buying the phone.
And for my situation, I don't have enough time with the phone to wait for the updates so getting them faster is a big plus( not big enough for me to choose pixels).
Of course the number of models a company launches has a major factor in their ability to keep the updated and optimized :)))
While oneplus most likely has a smaller team for os support they have around 7 phones to support altogether.
Samsung on the other hand has almost 50 devices launched this year alone so imagine the size of the team they will require to keep phones updated over 3 years.
So samsung will never be able to offer the same support and refinement OnePlus offers ( of course they can hire a huge it team but that won't be realistic)

PaulMihai, 05 Oct 2020But if you like to change the phone every year like me then... moreExcellent. There is an advantage here for the manufacturers, now. They need not have to think about Android updates. Then, why do speak about the superiority of Nord over Samsung, on the Android updates front? Moreover, giving Android updates to devices doesn't depend on the number of variants a manufacturer produces, but depends on their capability to provide one, whether it is OnePlus or Samsung.

Stability , Rear Cam. with Updates they have taken it close to OP8 ( Only Main Cam ). Lets See.

First of all, I find no reason as to why you would like to switch over from Galaxy A50. Every UI has its unique set of features which differentiates them from other UIs. It is all about your liking towards a particular UI. If you say that you would like to switch over to Pixel 5, there is a valid reason because its UI is a Stock of Google. But in your case, I would suggest to stick to A50 for some more time. Moreover, you'll definitely get Android Updates for 3 years for A50 as promised by Samsung. If you feel that you have deep pockets and wish for a change, why don't you switch over to OnePlus 8 Pro, or wait for OnePlus 8T because they are better devices than Nord. For a person who loves One UI very much, will dislike all other UIs. The same understanding goes well with OxygenOS.

In my opinion the OnePlus Os is a lot better. One UI might have a bit more features( not sure) but Oxygen os is smoother and receives updates faster and for a longer time ( although I heard talks that samsung will support some phones for 3 years as well but I'm not sure what models are included)
One plus launches around 2 phones a year so it's easier to make the os optimized for those phones
On the other hand samsung launches what, 10-20 devices each year? It's impossible for them to offer the same amount of support and optimization on every device they launch.
