Good to see that OnePlus finally trusts Mediatek and this could be a winning combo for the brands and the users as well.

They still do not implement the water resistant.. even a Samsung's budget phone has a IP-Rating.. OnePlus always a letdown! 👎👎

And before you go "well most people prefer wireless" you can't be further from the truth. Me owning several headphones, some of which are high end Sennheiser, have no option to use them on these "improved and new" phones.

Ok the Mediatek is on par of Snapdragon but what about:
- Mediatek to opensource the kernel sources? they suck at it. they violate GPL.
They gate-keep and don't opensource their drivers, like snapdragon
That will ruin ROM support!

Why they missed the 3.5mm jack on Nord 2...even Nord CE is having...... disappointing....they should at least provide type c to 3.5mm jack adaptor in the box.....

For the price one which this phone is offered....ppl should stop complaining it really has everything for a normal user and it's a much better value then the oneplus 9 series.

I am curious to know how can MediaTek chipsets support aptX technology? Can anybody explain?
I thought it is Qualcomm's proprietary product and can only be implemented on Snapdragon chipsets. Even the aptx website says that it is a fully owned Qualcomm product. I am confused here lol. Can anybody throw some light on this?

This is also built on the more efficient 6nm TSMC node instead of the Samsung 5nm which is what lead to 888 being such a bad chipset.

With a Mediatek chip, you will never see the aftermarket support for things like mainline Lineage OS that the phones with Snapdragon SOC enjoy. This is fine if you throw your phone away every few years, but some people buy used flagships or keep their phone for years.
