Oneplus proposes you the 9R for exemple.
Dimensity 1200 is a better choice in some ways :
- it allows 5G carrier aggregation when 870 doesn't (in some countries in Europe it's a better choice than mmwave, for exemple in UK, France or Germany...)
- for cameras, you've got 3+2 ISP when 870 has only 2...denoise system, zero shutter lag, HDR video capture are more advanced
- AI capabilities are far far better on 1200...based on dedicated silicon when 870 uses mostly GPU and DSP. Dedicated silicon is always more efficient
- AV1 hardware decoding for streaming is available on 1200, on older 1000+ and on midranger 900...all Snapdragon including 888 still have an obsolete video decoder.
Plus I can't understand how people can ask for Monopoly? That's the most dangerous thing for both OEM and final customers!

MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G is Good choice as it is cheaper as compared to Snapdragon processor which means brands can afford performance at quite reasonable price.
And it made the Nord 2 possible to be launched at 30k price segment

If you play Genshin Impact, you'd better buy a D1200 instead of a SD888!
And of course, D1200 has wifi 6...

It supports UFS3 and bluetooth 5.2 too
Secoundary cameras are Nord 2's weakness.
US companies are able to force the others to buy defaillant products...like Snapdragon 888 or F35.

The nord 2 will be the best mid-range phone around 400 dollars because it will have a chipset
powerful enough to compete with an sd870, it will take fantastic photos for the price (assuming that they are going to use the main camera system as the oneplus 9) and it will run on oxygen os which is the best skin of android in my opinion.

Is not worth it if it doesn't have sd888 , wifi6 , 120hz , dual speakers and cost under 500$... if a phone doesn't have the latest and greatest Snapdragon you can't call it a flagship or flagship killer...

Oneplus announced 3 years support with 2 major updates.
I doubt Realme offers the same.
The other advantage could be the camera.
It's Sony IMX766 50MP 1/1.56"... This is better than the 64MP 1/1.73"
It could have OIS (like 9R or Nord 1)
Dedicated software (Dimensity 5G Open Resource Architecture) can improve photos.
Updates and camera could be the reasons.
If there's not enough improvement on camera, I will choose K40 Game Enhanced Edition/Poco F3 GT instead when it will be available in Europe...

Dimensity does 5G carrier aggregation instead, when Snapdragon can't (except 888 only)
In most European countries 5G CA is/will be a better choice (France, UK, Germany...)
In US, mmwave is a better choice (except for T-Mobile users)

Realme x7 max already there with dimensity 1200, nord 2 will not compete with that, thus it is of no use.

If it's priced around like 250-280$ then it maybe a good choice though redmi note 10 pro would be the better choice

UFS 2.1 ??? Galaxy S7 used to have that storage standard. What we will do with that chipset if the storage speed going to be the bottleneck ? And that 6.4 inch 90 hz display is probably from oneplus 7 series. Only a good deal if its priced around $400-$450.
