1. Budget devices have the same camera sensor
2. Worst throttling and stability I've ever seen on recent phones. This is not at all a budget phone, mind you.
3. As usual OnePlus cuts cost by not providing proper certifications for streaming apps
4. Beautiful design identity and interesting choice to go with metal but this SoC is not at all made for metal body which tends to get hotter more faster than a plastic body.
5. This phone could be another Nord 3

No Dolby, No Dolby Atoms, and Netflix even doesn't support HDR 10 playback. Certainly this phone is not for multimedia players.

A gcam port might be able to salvage the camera. Poco F6 suddenly feels like a very good device now.

OpposedScroll75, 16 Jul 2024The name "Mediatek" immediately makes the product... moreIf qualcomm is so reputable, Then why mediatek chip sales is way above snapdragon chip since 2020 ? MediaTek sells many more processors than Qualcomm. Bad mediatek Maybe just happen in your mind, not the rest people in this world lol. Snapdragon fans always hilarious af.

OpposedScroll75, 16 Jul 2024The name "Mediatek" immediately makes the product... moreThe major reason for nord 3 flop is bad optimisation by oneplus for mtk d9000, overheating and fast battery drain are major concerns for nord 3. Vivo flagship with same d9000 has no overheating and better battery life. This shows poor optimisation is the reason.
Also in vivo v27 d7200 sucks, same chip optimised and used in vivo t2 pro,t3,nothing 2a,xiaomi 13 pro+ and its hit.
Also d8100/d8200 also proved as best chipsets and people liked them.So OEMs should optimise mtk chips well.

OpposedScroll75, 16 Jul 2024The name "Mediatek" immediately makes the product... moreMediatek is totally fine, it's one of the two companies alongside snapdragon who do SoCs well. Google tensor and exynos are the names that you should actually beware as they are way worse than mediatek and snapdragon. If you are afraid of mediatek, be not afraid. They are great (atleast in recent years).

Me: * Looks at specs for my country *
Sigh...
What a huge bloody disappointment. That is absolutely not to my liking, especially when considering that SOC has one of the best 4G/5G modems around.
Thanks for nothing, OnePlus. I'll be considering the Realme GT6T, Oppo Reno 12, Samsung Galaxy A35, or Motorola Edge 50 Pro instead.

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2024They should have went with dimensity 8300-7+ gen 3 is 8s ge... moreThe name "Mediatek" immediately makes the product worse in the customer's mind. The product simply won't sell as well if it has a Mediatek chip in it because of the lack of trust that people have for said company.
Therefore, picking the Snapdragon alternative at the same price is more beneficial for the manufacturer, regardless of the extra money Qualcomm takes for licenses.
The only reason that the Poco X6 Pro is selling so well is that it is marketed for people who are desperate for flagship performance at a lower midrange price. The Nord 4 simply isn't marketed like that.
As an example, look at the Nord 3 from last year. It had the Dimensity 9000 in it, a 2022 flagship chip in a 2023 midrange phone. It was a real competitor to the Poco F5 despite not being marketed as such and it was nearly 2X faster than the popular choice, the A54, yet it didn't sell well at all.
If you want good sales in the Smartphone world, you need reputable names.

SkyFX, 16 Jul 2024Why does everything with Snapdragon always costs 150€ more ... moreThey should have went with dimensity 8300-7+ gen 3 is 8s gen 3 with gimped gpu and video decode block and qualcomm charges for enabling cellular bands and longer software support.
