Because of what's happening in terms of China the country in a "geopolitical" sense people are rightly concerned of spywares, malwares, trojans and what not. A Redmi Note 13 series is not a flagship. So the concerns of ads, bloat and spywares are there.
Having had past Xiaomi / Redmi /Poco phones in the past i find very little confidence-building measures in owning their phones apart from being a great value for money. Updates policy is ambiguous including quality of life updates (to cameras, photos app, performance, etc.) and I still think Samsung, OnePlus and in some ways Motorola still have more quality control in the manufacturing and after sales.
What do you think?

And the ads/bloat ware are only present on lower-end, non-flagship Xiaomi smartphones, so if you get a model from their flagship lineup, even older ones like the Mi 11 and 12 series, you shouldn't find any ads in the software. Regarding spyware... I mean, everyone knows pretty damn well by now that every phone company spies, in one way or another, through their smartphones, but as for any other type of spyware and malware, any phone can get it if you visit the wrong sites or download suspicious files/apps, etc. But really, I haven't heard about specific malware issues on Xiaomi's phones

David 040882, 13 Jul 2024Yes, pretty sure. Here's what GSMArena team said about... moreThe samples really don't do justice when comparing them. Best to ask people for their own experience i think.
I think we can both agree the Snapdragon 695 is an old chip and has been left behind in the competition with the newer ones. There are reports the Moto G84 Android 14 update made some minor enhancements to the camera quality overall but I don't know if this is true or not.
My only concern with a Xiaomi product are the ads, plenty of bloatware (which you can uninstall most but not all) and reports of spywares/malwares pre-installed as being a chinese phone.
      Any thoughts on that?

Gino76ph, 13 Jul 2024The Moto G84 has somewhat the older Samsung ISOCELL GN9 sen... moreYes, pretty sure. Here's what GSMArena team said about the main cam results of the Moto G84:

"The main camera on the Moto G84 captures binned stills in right around 12.5MP by default. These look pretty nice overall, with plenty of detail and true-to-life colors. Dynamic range is also decent, and so is contrast.

However, there are some obvious deficiencies, like noise, which is present throughout the frame. There is some softness as well. Motorola has seemingly tried to deal with it through sharpening, but it is a bit too aggressive for our taste. Sharpening artifacts are visible all throughout the frame. Fine detail is subject to moire fringing."

While on the hands-on review of the Nord CE4 Lite they said this:

"Let's move on to discussing the image quality of the sole usable camera on the back. The main camera has above-average image quality with a few caveats. The color reproduction and white balance were good but with a tendency to oversaturate greens, making foliage more vibrant than it was in reality. The detail captured is good but oversharpened and exaggerated a bit. The dynamic range was a bit disappointing as the camera would struggle with bright highlights and dark shadows in high-contrast scenes. There's also noticeable color noise in the shadows."

The Mogo G84 also has a bonus point because of the ultrawide camera, which the Nord CE4 Lite completely lacks. So overall, I'd go with the Moto G84. Go check GSMArena's camera samples on each of the phones' reviews and see for yourself which images you like better

So, on paper (and practice) would you expect the Moto G84 to still be slightly superior in it's camera system?

Gino76ph, 12 Jul 2024This might sound like a stupid question. The Nord CE4 Lite... moreThe Moto G84 for sure. It has a bigger main camera sensor, as well as an ultrawide with AF, whereas the Nord CE4 Lite has a 2MP depth sensor

This might sound like a stupid question.
The Nord CE4 Lite and the Moto G84 both have the same chipsets but seemingly that's where it ends.
So, which one between them have better cameras overall in photo & video quality?

I own a OnePlus Nord CE3 lite 5g as many of us here. This CE4 lite 5g absolutely no worth and no upgrade for an avegarge user (no gamer) like me e.g. Nord CE3 lite even has a bigger screen, that's important to me personally. I love big screen - no mouse cinema :-). One Plus Nord CE4 would be an upgrade, but is is other category, other price class. too expensive. I am satisfied with my CE3 lite 5G.

Only small upgrade from CE3 lite and no charger in package. Price is too high for what you get.

They have found salvation in SD 695.
                              SD695 THE MIGHTY.

                                    Really a Snapdragon 695

It's funny, I used to be a OnePlus fan. All the way until OnePlus 6. Had OP3t to start with and was mostly satisfied... That was few years ago and thin have gone sideways since then.
Now I have Poco F5, very happy with it for less money, and was here to compare specs and I'm not super excited.

Meanwhile charger: Bye bye 🫡(for Europe)
