Doyle, 27 Oct 2020Considering the phone with its price tag, A Snapdragon 730G... moreFor the exact same price tag I was able to buy Poco F2 pro,
6/128Gb ver.
I upgraded from OnePlus 6 8/128Gb and I'm quite happy.
It's not for small hands and it's a bit heavier than regular smartphone due to 4750mAh battery but this nochles Amoled screen is just amazing and worth it.
Not to talk about SD 865, UFS 3.0 storage and 33W charging.

Finally, a 5G lower midrange chipset. Definitely been waiting for a phone with SD 690 chipset.

Those official side / bottom profile images are completely fake :) It's nowhere near as thin.

evilpaul, 27 Oct 2020I was wondering if it would be worth picking up one of thes... moreThe SD690 is brand new and uses A77 cores similar to that of the 865... I'm not sure why you think it's going to be a slow and old cpu, gpu wise it's probably not great sure but cpu wise it should be pretty good for the price.

I was wondering if it would be worth picking up one of these over a used OP8 maybe... No, it's not. The battery life is probably mediocre because of the slow, old CPU and IPS screen.

Considering the phone with its price tag, A Snapdragon 730G or 60G chipset would be better.

OnePlus and Co. are on a downhill journey I guess....How could they give the worst possible specs for the price?:(.....The last satisfying OnePlus was the 7T.....

Who decided a 90Hz is better than a 60Hz Oled?

                        Azkin, 26 Oct 2020Why 90hz and not 60? We don't need it.that's not funny

Oneplus wants to give us a flagship like phone but with 2 or 3 compromises , first compromise is on processor, 2nd one is build quality and 3rd one is Display (non-amoled ).
But one upgrade is 64mp camera. in Nord we get 48mp.
Everything looking good as a midrange phone

Once people were fascinated by One Plus phones because it used to be flagship killer at lower price. Now it has become so expensive that it has to launch mediocre phones to justify its flagship phones. This Chinese company is on slow death, noone wants to buy Chinese stuff. We will buy Samsung, Nokia, Apple, LG but no Chinese phones!

To those comparing this phone to Xiaomi and Realme, we can't use those phones in the US. Now you know how abysmal the US mid-range market is.

Considering Oneplus is providing a headphone jack AND expanded memory finally, this is a perfect phone for the casual user such as my father. Totally getting it for him.
