yea right if they used mediatek i would said that the hardware is cheap but,Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801
in not cheap hardware at all Sony,Samsung and LG use it.That they are using cheap hardware yea.

are you talking about low quality semiconductors, low quality screen, or low quality pcb ? Then you have never seen the insides of a nokia or an iphone...

Since the OnePlus One's announcement, Meizu has reduced the price of their MX3 to RMB 1799/1999 (USD 291/324) for their 16GB and 32GB models and Xiaomi has just reduced the price of the Mi3 to RMB 1699/1999 (USD 275/324) for their 16GB and 64GB models respectively.
The OnePlus One might lose it's price advantage before it even ships. (Although I know the MX3 by the specs is inferior, just pointing out the recent price reductions)

FYI the Chinese Regulatory Board has recently revealed that OnePlus is in fact a wholly owned subsidiary of OPPO.
