OnePlus Pad review

GSMArena Team, 8 May 2023.

Introduction

The OnePlus Pad is the company's first tablet in the nine years it has been around. It is identical to the Oppo Pad 2, with which it shares everything but the name.

The OnePlus Pad is an interestingly priced and specced device. At $479, it sits in a segment that is largely devoid of significant competition, with most Android tablets being cheaper and the good iPads being more expensive. It is a semi-premium device with a curious assortment of choices that make up its spec sheet.

The thing that should garner the most attention is likely to be the display, which boasts a unique 7:5 aspect ratio and 144Hz refresh rate. Yet, the display uses a standard LCD panel. Similarly, you get features like Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos along with 67W fast charging but there's no cellular connectivity and the chipset is a MediaTek Dimensity 9000. As you can tell, there is a bit of give and take happening here and eventually, it will come down to what you value the most in your tablet.

Here's a full list of features and specifications found on the OnePlus Pad.

Unboxing the OnePlus Pad

The OnePlus Pad comes with pretty standard packaging. Inside, you get the tablet and a USB-C cable with USB 2.0 support. In some regions, you also get a fast charger in the box (our Indian review unit came with a 100W charger) and in others, it's a paid extra.

OnePlus also sells three accessories for the OnePlus Pad. These include the OnePlus Stylo, the Magnetic Keyboard, and Folio Case. The Folio Case is being bundled with the device in certain regions for a limited period.

no headphone 3.5mm jack?

Samsung's phones are overpriced. The quality is a faint glimmer of what it used to be. They seem to put more effort into the production of (the screens and chipsets and storage memory that they sell for literally any other company's devices...
