Boggy, 29 Jul 2024Pardon my french, but how tf is this a budget tablet? SD8 g... moreYou know that sd8g3 is the flagship chip you find in tab 9 ultra and s24 ultra, right? It's not an entry chip, it's the high end chip. If that's an entry chip, is the Intel Xeon a high end chip for you? Honestly, do some research before talking.

Redmi pad pro 5g will be available in India from 8th August. But Oneplus Pad 2 has jumped the gun and making it available from 1st Aug. That was clever. Price to performance, Oneplus Pad 2 is far ahead.

GSMArena, please, give us a review BEFORE the global launch. I'm waiting for your review only.
After the 1st of august it will be useless 😞😞😞

This is a nice powerful tablet for its price. Is good for gaming, web browsing and heavy tasks.
But the form factor (iPad 12.9 style) makes it quite bad for watching movies. Those black bars in Netflix or other streaming apps are bigger than my depression, lol.

If this is budget tablet, then what do you call a Galaxy Tab A9 or A9+ series? Non-existent? Lol.
Not even the price is budget. I mean, 550EUR for an Android tablet is upper mid-range territory. Android tablets don't need to cost 1000EUR to be flagship level. Only Tab S9 Ultra with their excessive pricing, is like that.

You need to realise this is a budget tablet. I pre ordered this for £450, with free gifts thrown in by OnePlus - to me that is fantastic although the imperfections like no cellular data connection.

I am really looking forward to your review, it depends on whether I will buy a tablet or not. 💪💪

Robin, 17 Jul 2024Can you tell me more about this? What is this feature calle... moreIf your OP phone & tablet updated (by OP) to Android 14.xx, look in Settings / Connection & Sharing / Multi-Screen Connect.
Uses BT, Wi-Fi, NFC, Nearby Share, Proxy, VPN to share data "even if your carrier blocks Tethering".
The first couple times might be flakey, but it's seamless/ automatic after that.
There's a separate Windows download- but it doesn't work but then Hotspot from the Tablet allows connecting other devices.

I think it's a lot of dev work for naught just to be able to connect a single device, it doesn't work between phones.

SteveoBrim, 17 Jul 2024I think they are trying to push us to use their ecosystem. ... moreAny OP phone on Android 14.1 will work. It's not that ideal for many reasons.
And they should've enabled the Data Sharing between phones also- not just to OP Tablet.
As well the Windows version doesn't work- at least on the OP phones- don't know about the other co-brands.

Anonymous, 18 Jul 2024What are you talking about? The only good thing about this... moreGood catch no GPS. And don't understand why all phones & tablets don't include Radio- and both FM & AM.
Heck- also CB, Ham, Walkie Talkie, Satellite. We're going to undergo some extended outage event worse than relatively short term weather phenomenons or festivals / riots (same shiet)- but even during the latter very useful.

Anonymous, 18 Jul 2024Why is everyone so bothered about the lack of cellular data... moreIt doesn't charge that quickly or even have pass-thru charging. Here, on the road it's tough to find available electrical outlets.
With cellular, native calling and Multi-eSim it's more versatile and useful. Unlimited Tablet data plans as low as $10 can be found.

SonyAdmiral, 19 Jul 2024Because a bad display do not deserve a good chip like thisYes- a big waste what with inferior & less storage & ram + no cellular... mediocre charging.

This can't be for serious work:

                            - hate to see release just before major Android update

                            - no Cellular- Multi-eSim Active woulda been very helpful, along with native Calling (w/ Auto Record)- could double up as home / mobile office phone too. Someone will chime in that it can share phone's data even if carrier blocks Tether, but then it's now two devices discharging faster + tablet charges slower & has no reverse charging- on the road many places remove outlets to discourage lingering, crowding, theft, homeless takeover.

Storage- no UFS 4 & only 256gb w/ no SD slot or even an extra USB slot
RAM- 16+ minimum needed for multitasking & serious work, and doubt that it's the latest- given slower storage.
You want the latest storage and ram not just for speed- they run much cooler and draw much less power.

Charging- 67W when already in possession of 125+W. No reverse charging. And a great standout innovation woulda been removable & extended batteries + separate dual/triple battery charger like former LG G Stylo phone. I mean, IP rating non-issue for a tablet- you're not gonna swim with it.

                            - No audio jack.

                            - Keep OP 12's IR blaster- nice little perk.

                            - And it's time to think about making tablets tri/quad Fold for better portability and even standing out from competition.

Mediocre, why don't they put any 600 SD chip instead of SD 8 gen 3?, and why IPS? This should be Illegal.

Why is everyone so bothered about the lack of cellular data?
Maybe it's different here in the UK, but I turn on the WIFI Hotspot on my phone, the tablet connects via WIFI, and from there it's exactly the same as having cellular data.
Admittedly the phone battery will run down slightly quicker but I'm not someone that needs to use a tablet all day every day so it's never been an issue.

Biggest disappointment is the "No cellular" version atleast for 5G data.

This would have been a superhit with people (and almost end of iPads) like who travel a lot due to Business and with no SIM version, its an absolute waste of resources like 8 Gen3 chip...What are you guys even trying to do, i simply fail to understand?
