Oppo A97 goes official with Dimensity 810, 48MP camera, and 5,000 mAh battery

The Oppo A97 that surfaced last week is now official. It is powered by the Dimensity 810 SoC and runs Android 12-based ColorOS 12 out of the box. The A97 comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage onboard, and you also have the option to expand the RAM virtually up to 19GB using the smartphone's internal storage.

The Oppo A97 packs a 6.6" FullHD+ 90Hz LCD with a notch for the 12MP selfie camera. Around the back, we get a 48MP primary camera joined by a 2MP depth unit. Fueling the entire package is a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging support.

The rest of the Oppo A97's highlights include 5G connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB-C. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint reader and stereo speakers tuned by Dirac.

The Oppo A97 comes in blue and black colors and is priced at CNY2,099 ($312/€311) in China. You can pre-book one through Oppo's official Chinese website or JD.com, with the latter selling it for CNY2,299 ($341/€340) for some reason. Shipping begins July 15, but there's no word on availability in other markets.

It's a strange world we live in today. The last time I followed phone news, Chinese phones were the king for midrange and lower phones. Now Samsung takes the cake by selling competitively specced phones just like the Chinese used to do lmao ...

that is the reason why i started to buy phones online. no fuss and no worries getting pressed by oppo or vivo salesman. i can decide which brand should i buy. anyways, oppo and vivo products are so overpriced. in flagship and midrange models. low end...
