Oppo exec details Find X8’s Quick Capture button

The physical camera shutter button is making a big comeback on smartphones this year and Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro will launch with a Quick Capture button. In a lengthy Weibo post, Oppo’s Find series product manager Zhou Yibao explained the reasoning behind bringing the Quick Capture button on the company’s upcoming flagship phones.

The post describes "pain points" where the Oppo exec felt the need for a fast and easy way to snap photos without using touchscreen controls. These included personal experiences with freezing temperatures and him wearing gloves and a rafting trip which made it impossible to use the touch screen and capture shots due to the water splashes and constant shaking of the raft.

And while the Camera Control button on the iPhone 16 series features a capacitive touch area, the Oppo exec also brushed over the need for a simple and uncomplicated mechanical button solely used for taking photos.

The Galaxy NX is still the apex "camera phone" to this date. Mostly because it was a system camera running Android. :D

just another phone .. same slab

The Galaxy K Zoom is better. I mean, it came out later... but those phones were cameras, not regular smartphones.
