vic, 18 Jan 2023No wireless charging like moto razr for expensive phone wha... moreA brief complaint about the lack of wireless charging is a sign of lack of understanding of and comprehension of wireless charging. (or simply a display of idiot foolery). As I have discovered.
I have wireless charging on my phones. 1) the inbedded coil heats up especially if the phone is used while charging. This causes the phone battery to heat up even more such that the phone remains warm to touch (even on 10W wireless charging!) for many minutes later. 30w or 50w turns your phone temporarily into a hand warmer. Great when the weather is cold not good at all in warm weather. We know heat destroys battery life. A 5000mAh battery lasted me only a year even being careful to lift off the base when charged - but the base also gets warm! I have a phone with 4,500mAh battery that after only 5 months is showing signs of degradation - barely lasting 4 hours S.O.T (screen on time) when it easily did over 5 when new. It's wireless charging is almost as high as its wired charging (which is 66w). I have started to use the wired charging because there is no warm base, no warm inner coil, the battery still gets warmish but cools quicker - the charging brick gets warm but that is a wire away and the phone does not sit on it! Though wireless charging seemed a great idea to me I now realise batteries hold heat longer because of it and ergo degrade quicker. Rapid charging heats up but it does not last! In wireless charging the phone is sitting on the charger base - which gets warm too and the phone has a charging (induction) coil inside it next to its battery! Induction charging is not so clever or wise as it seems - As I have found out to my cost.

Olympus Oms, 29 Dec 2022It's not necessary anymore.! Get over it.! In 2030 you... moreYeah to be honest you're right. I know I've already invested 200$ in wired headphones, and am planning to invest another 600$ sometime in the next few years, but it truly is a useless feature. Bluetooth sounds so good in comparison to cables that it's worth it to replace 250$ earbuds every two years because the battery goes out. Not to mention the convenience! I can't be bothered to plug in a cable, that's extremely challenging. I'd much rather fiddle with settings and spend 5 minutes getting my truly wireless earbuds fitted in my ears properly. I can't believe I ever wasted money on my Samson SR-850's. Open back headphones suck so much compared to Bluetooth earbuds. Especially since they'll last for decades. I mean where's the fun in that! I'd much rather spend 1300$ on Bluetooth earbuds every decade. My lossless music library sounds like potato over my phone's quad DAC and open back headphones. Sounds much better over compressed Bluetooth. Besides, I'm probably just gonna switch to streaming services anyways. Like do I really needddd 190GB of my favourite music in lossless, when I could just open Spotify and get recommendations for music I don't really like? This whole thing is ridiculous. Can't believe I ever wasted my time on FLAC. It sounds so bad compared to MP3 64Kbps. I'm selling my headphones and buying some fiddly wireless earbuds that I'll probably lose within a month ASAP.

Why aren't you whining about the size? It was much better in the early 2000.! It fit in a pocket.! It could actually be lost in a pocket.
