Oppo Find X8 unboxing

Oppo is making its return to Western markets, adding another option in the sea of Galaxy phones and iPhones (with the occasional Pixel). The company's comeback is spearheaded by its brand new flagship duo - the Oppo Find X8 Pro and Find X8.

The pair of well-designed fully-featured flagships will certainly give established players a run for their money. The Pro is the bigger phone with a larger display and battery, a better main camera, and two telephotos, while the Oppo Find X8 might just be the best compact phone you can have right about now (the vivo X200 Pro mini is increasingly unlikley to come our way).

The Oppo Find X8 ships with a case, an 80W charger, and a USB-C to USB-A cable. Such a complete retail package is becoming a rare sight and we fear even Chinese stalwarts will soon start trimming their packages.

The Oppo Find X8 isn't a mini phone, like the vivo X200 Pro mini, but it is very compact for its nearly 6.6-inch display. It's 4.6mm taller and 2.3mm wider than a Pixel 9 Pro, but it's 6 grams lighter and noticeably thinner.

Oppo managed the small footprint thanks to a uniform 1.45mm bezel - it is the slimmest on an Oppo phone yet. And, the Find X8 is tough too - Oppo calls it an Armour Shield construction, it passed a number of MIL-STD tests for impact, and Swiss SGS certified for "whole-phone drop resistance." It's also IP69 rated - a notch above IP68, so you can pressure wash it if you are so inclined.

Unlike the Oppo Find X8 Pro, it lacks a Quick Button for the camera, but you still get the alert slider.

The Oppo Find X8's official rollout begins on November 21. Stick around for our full review!

I hope they're reviewing the global version as most of us will only ever have the chance to buy this one. We all know chinese ROMs can sometimes provide a very different experience. I can see that the charger is EU type from the image but t...

What about the Xiaomi 15?

In the USA - especially using T-Mobile towers (I use Mint on T-Mo) we need band N71 when outside the big city. So far the OnePlus 13 seems to be the only one of these similar phones that will have this! I prefer the Oppo for the center placement of t...
