Oppo Reno13 review

6.59-inch OLED panel
Oppo took away some screen real estate from the Reno13 and is now 6.59" in diagonal, down from 6.7". Resolution is slightly higher now, though - 1256 x 2760px. The display also supports 10-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ content.

The device's panel boosts up to 1,204 nits in auto mode and up to 480 nits in manual mode. That's enough for comfortable outdoor use, even on a bright sunny day. Best of all, we didn't find any irregularities with brightness boosting here, unlike last year's model.
Refresh rate
The display settings menu offers three modes - Auto, Standard and High. High forces the refresh rate at 120Hz at all times, while Standard keeps it locked at 60Hz.

The Auto mode switches between 60 and 120Hz on the fly, depending on the scenario. For instance, if you are not interacting with the display, it will dial down to 60Hz. However, we found that some apps are locked at 60Hz, even in Auto mode. The Chrome browser is one of those apps.
Battery life
The battery capacity is now 5,600 mAh, up from 5,000 mAh on the Reno12 last year, and the phone runs on a supposedly more energy-efficient Dimensity 8350 SoC. The Reno13 also sports a smaller 6.59-inch OLED panel now.
As is usually the case with ColorOS/OxygenOS/Realme UI-powered devices, the Reno13 offers excellent battery life with an impressive 16:50h Active Use Score. The device scored excellently in all individual tests, but we are particularly impressed by the web browsing and video runtimes.
The phone's not just a better performer than its predecessor but also beats the competition with ease. The Realme 14 Pro+ is the only handset that gets close to the Reno13 and runs the same OS.
Charging speed
The results from our charging test show roughly the same charging speed as last year's Reno12, despite having a bigger battery. The handset still relies on Oppo's proprietary 80W SuperVooc charging standard, which puts it close to the top when it comes to fast charging in this segment, giving way only to the Xiaomi 14T Pro.
The Reno13 offers some settings that could extend the battery's life cycle. You can, for instance, disable fast charging or turn on Smart charging, which adapts to your usage and kicks in the fast charging only when needed. You can also set a charging limit to 80% to avoid keeping the battery at 100% for prolonged periods of time if you do overnight charging.
Speakers
The Reno13 features a set of standard, hybrid stereo speakers. The main one is positioned at the bottom side of the frame, while the secondary one also acts as an earpiece. Naturally, the bottom-firing speaker is slightly louder.
Loudness-wise, the device achieved -24.7 LUFS loudness score, which is "Very Good". Quality-wise, it leaves a little bit more to be desired, but it's definitely above average. The tuning is overall fine, but the bass is a bit too much, even if that sounds nearly impossible in the context of loudspeakers.
If you often listen to vocal-less tracks using the phone's loudspeakers, you will like the warm, full, bass-heavy tuning. But the vocals and highs sometimes get lost amid the prominent bass.
Use the Playback controls to listen to the phone sample recordings (best use headphones). We measure the average loudness of the speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a louder sound. A look at the frequency response chart will tell you how far off the ideal "0db" flat line is the reproduction of the bass, treble, and mid frequencies. You can add more phones to compare how they differ. The scores and ratings are not comparable with our older loudspeaker test. Learn more about how we test here.

I don't know, maybe you are right. But I find Nothing phones to be very ugly. They back is disgusting ugly and their UI Nothing OS is monochrome and ugly and boring like Stock Android. Downright depressing. I prefer Chinese phones like Xiao...
