gkrm89, 16 Feb 2025Writing this after 1 month usage. 1) Battery life - Got ... moreHello. Thank you for comments about the cameras in general. I would like to know a little more about the qualities of the videos it takes. Are they good? I've seen just some camera tests on youtube, and they don't look that good for the price of the phone...

Reno 13 pro surely deserves a full fledged review from GSMArena. Don't know why it has been left out by Oppo not sending review units, even to several popular reviewers in youtube as well. Feels like a deliberate effort from Oppo to underplay this device to boost Find X8 series' sales. Only those who are following sites like GSMarena or those who are very keenly searching for camera centric device in upper midrange segment will be aware of this phone.

Agreed, performance benchmarks are comparatively lower than 7+ gen 3, 8s gen 3 & 8 gen 3 phones. Though D8350's score between 1.3 million to 1.4 million in antutu v10 indicates this phone is no slouch either. And price wise also this could've been 5% to 10% lower while launching in some markets(like India) where people look for a very competitive pricing.

Despite these minor setbacks, this device is a very capable all-round package, gives tough competition to Vivo v40 pro, Realme GT 6, Xiaomi 14 civi and even beats OP 13R in camera department.

Cons I feel in aforementioned devices compared to Reno 13 Pro:
Vivo v40 pro(Indian version) - No NFC , no eSIM , only 8 5G bands, telephoto only upto 2x zoom(but has OIS which is good though), dual side curved display.

Realme GT6 - No eSIM, telephoto with only 2x zoom without OIS rather only PDAF, IP 65 rated & misses 68/69 , dual side curved display.

Xiaomi 14 civi - No eSIM, telephoto with only 2x zoom without OIS rather only PDAF, only 8 5G bands & 7 in 4G bands(this does make notable difference in real time as I had used it for 6 months). Below par battery capacity(4700 mAH) & thereby poor endurance. Hardly 6 hrs SOT per full charge even with power saver on. Camera quality is poor when it comes to natural reproduction of colours in sunlight/shadows. No IP rating or whatsoever. HyperOS is a pain to use as it has several annoying bugs, and much inferior compared to OneUI/ColorOS experience, also lags in AI fetaures, delayed & lethargic update policy(atleast in India for sure)

OP 13R(Indian version) - Only 9 5G bands( even OP12R had upto 15 5G bands). Mediocre camera setup except for the primary 50mp. IP 65 rated & misses 68/69. Even though OP promises life time screen replacement for green line issue, it's slightly scary as even if replacement is free, definitely we need to spend some amount of time & effort to get it repaired in the nearest service centers.

phOneX, 12 Feb 2025Those who bought it , provide review on below 1) Battery l... moreWriting this after 1 month usage.

      1) Battery life - Got upto 42 hrs(inclusive of 9h 55 mins SOT) with 9% remaining battery, had power saver mode & AOD always on. And upto 3 days standby(inclusive of 3.5 hrs SOT) with 40% remaining battery, which again had power saver on & AOD enabled always. Surely has great endurance as per my usage.

      2) Charging speed - Approx ~50 to 55 mins for charging from around 15% to full charge. Smart rapid charging will hardly reduce few mins, so it doesn't make much difference while using it with default charging option. Just above average in this department. (I had noticed while reaching from 98% to 100% takes about 8-10 mins. So I presume 30 min charge easily will end up around 60% or even a bit more.)

      3) Camera performance - All the three 50 mp cameras are highly capable in both day light & low light scenarios. Portraits upto 3.5x(85mm) are good and retains the details adequately. Didn't mention about 8mp ultrawide as I feel we should actually forget it, poor detailing while using it. Oppo clearly made a cost cutting here with that 8 mp and also to make people choose Find X8 series if they need a capable UW too. But if you are fine with selfie, primary and telephoto cameras, this device will be a great choice. Telephoto is very capable of competing even with flagship phones having 3x 70-73mm cameras out there.

      4) OS performance - Smooth !! Once you disable additional recommendations while setting up for first time and disabling/uninstalling bloatwares, you'll surely experience a clean & neat UI. It's feature rich as well. (ColorOS is 2nd best option in my opinion when it comes to Android skins, 1st one being OneUI)

      5) Can we disable or remove bloatwares? - Yes, you can very well do that. Just an one time setup.

      6) Audio/Speakers - Speakers are good, bottom firing speakers are stereo and top one is mono(it's just the earpiece acting as speaker while media usage). But altogether the overall quality sounds as stereo and loudness is definitely good.

      7) Build quality - Premium, feels very premium without back case and great ergonomics. Quad curved display is another added advantage at this price point. Given market is flooded with circular camera islands, be it flagships or budget ones, rectangular design with symmetrically placed cameras gives an unique feel. However, I'd advise to use a back cover for added protection.

phOneX, 12 Feb 2025Those who bought it , provide review on below 1) Battery l... moreBattery life - Very good in battery department like my SOT is 4-4.5 hours per day with AOD on for 14 hours and screen set to auto 60hz to 120hz and I'm using 1.5k resolution. Play casual games like clash of clans etc. so it's a 1.5 to 2days battery life total SOT it is giving more than 8 hours with wifi not mobile data.

Charging speed is good with 80w charging plugging at 30 and making to 100 will be done in 25-30 mins with rapid charging on.

Camera - It's one of the best in this price segment Reno series always known for photography and it does its job in that way and with Oppo's AI it provides a next level photography.

OS - There is a huge difference between Color OS 14 and Color OS 15......The last version changed everything...... It's to my opinion best android skin right now and super smooth like the fluid.....The animations are better than non pro models of iphone 16.

Bloatwares - I already uninstalled and disabled the bloatwares like hot games hot apps and others too.
        U can disable.

Audio - It's a dual speaker phone audio's are great and has stereo effect too.

Build quality - It feels premium if u hold it it will not give u a mid range look at all.....it will look like flagship in each and every angle......I liked that frames are not plastic like previous Reno models it came with aluminium build frames......Build quality is feeling solid.

It's a perfect phone for each and every angle to me.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2025Waste of money Writing from reno 13pro Poor battery It... moreI presume you're not testing it inside a microwave owen. The only chance of battery drain is when you run highly performance intensive benchmarking apps (like Antutu) for atleast 10 times a day or you have more than 15 to 20 apps running in background always. Then it will surely drain like you have said. There will be atleast 6 hrs SOT Iin balanced mode, and 8 to 9 hrs in power saver mode. One other chance of it draining like you have said, is that you're device might be a defective one, please replace it at the earliest if same problem persists.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2025no silicon carbon Battey and no wireless charging In the Gl... moreSi/c or Li-ion, doesn't matter much as long as it's on the higher capacity margin. 5800 mAh is still a good number, given higher end Oppo/OP phones come with at least 48 month 80% battery retention rate(or 80% retention after 1600 cycles in other words). Theoretically, in real time, battery health wouldn't reduce for at least 3 years(approx 1100 cycles of proper full charge). I am already getting upto 2 days battery life if usage is around 5 to 6 hrs(around 2-3 hrs usage per day).

One e-SIM activation option is already present as well. Not sure why GSMarena hasn't updated it properly in SIM specs, as it should've been : NanoSIM + NanoSIM (or) NanoSIM + eSIM. Hope they update it eventually.

3 OS + 4 yrs security patches policy was introduced for Reno 12 series itself, which is pretty decent for upper midrange devices. You can't expect flagship level update policy after paying (upper) midrange price. Stop whining and have some rationality.

Trololo, 25 Jan 2025i think they mentioning dual speaker, top & bottom part... moreThere is a speaker at top side as well, I own the device for a month now. Stop spreading fake information.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2025Thanks for the reply and I already bought Reno 13 Pro and u... moreNo problem and good choice, given you've prioritised camera. You can very well play games like COD in default settings, which is currently - 'High' in graphics option & 'Very high' in frame rate, I didn't change as these settings are more than enough for me. There were no signs of heating even for a 2 hr gaming session, temperature just held on to 35°c and dropped once I quit the game. And micro quad curve is much better design, compared to last year's dual curved displays in almost every upper midrange even flagship phones which were really annoying. (Pricing alone could've been a tad bit lower for reno 13 pro, as that was the main concern for users as well as reviewers in Indian market)

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2025I will buy a phone but confused between Oppo Reno 13 Pro an... moreIf you're looking for higher performance, intensive media/gaming usage as priority, then 13R is a solid device. It's around 40% higher in terms of antutu score(v10) as well compared to reno 13 pro, and will surely support highest fps in some games like COD/BGMI, as Snapdragon 8 gen 3 is still a flagship, whereas dimensity 8350 is just an upper midrange processor. But camera is a bummer in 13R, except for the rear primary 50 mp, other cameras including selfie are mediocre. Telephoto is only 2x with PDAF in 13R, having no OIS, hence won't be much useful as it supports only 20x zoom which is really outdated.

Now coming to Reno 13 pro, it's an all-rounder with some compromise being made with the processor part, though D8350 gave 1.27 million as score in antutu v10 when I tested in performance mode, which I feel is slightly below the curve(but still close to Snapdragon 7+ gen 3 & 8s gen 3). Camera setup is almost equivalent to flagship, I could definitely say 3 out of 4 cams in it are highly capable even in low light scenarios, and at this given point in time there is no other phone in market's upper mid range segment giving 3.5x telephoto with PDAF+OIS. There are several flagship features shared from Find X8 series as well, such as - eSIM option, Signal boost chip, micro quad curved display, higher number of 4G & 5G bands, IP 66/68/69 rated. There is almost not much difference in real time usage as ColorOS is really smooth including animations(similar to my last device which was Xiaomi 14 civi equipped with 8s gen 3)

Verdict - Choose Reno 13 pro if you're looking for flagship equivalent cameras(selfie, primary & telephoto), pretty good media experience , average gaming usage(1 or 2 hrs per day), and that compromise of 20% to 30% difference in performance benchmarks. Battery endurance is good too, solid 8 to 9 hrs SOT per each full charge.

I am pretty sure Reno 13 pro will be a capable device even after 3 yrs of solid usage(saying this as a previous owner of Realme GT neo 2 which had snapdragon 870 & realme UI/ColorOS clone, device didn't lag even after 2.5 yrs of usage post which I exchanged it for new phone)

ZGA, 12 Jan 2025Mono speakers? Stereo speakers... speaker grills present both at top & bottom side...
