Optimus Vu II to come with universal remote app, IrDA port

27 August, 2012

LG has revealed that its upcoming Optimus Vu II phoneblet will give users the ability to control many consumer electronics devices throughout their house, thanks to the phones' included infrared and "all-in-one remote control" app, QRemote.

LG seeks to enable the Vu II to replace almost any remote in your house, and eliminate the need to constantly keep searching for remotes for different appliances.

While it's a long shot as to whether the QRemote app will work with everything out there, LG claims that the device is currently being tested on over 300 domestic and international TV models, and, we imagine that support will be expanded to other devices with app updates as well.

Other than QRemote and the included infrared capabilities, LG has revealed nothing in regards to the specifications of the Optimus Vu II. We won't have long to wait, however, as the Vu II is set to be revealed next month in Korea.
