Our Sony Xperia 1 V video review is now up
Sony has a new flagship smartphone out, and the fifth generation Xperia 1 is unlike anything else on the market. That's true for the naming convention, for the choice of cameras, the 4K screen... There are a lot of things to set this one apart from its competitors.
So let's dive into it in 13 minutes packed to the brim with all of the most useful information you can get about the Xperia 1 V. That's because our video review of Sony's latest and greatest is now ready, fully baked, and straight out of the oven. So grab yourself your beverage of choice, hit Play, and find out what makes the Xperia 1 V special, and where it falls short.
Despite another arm of Sony making the "type 1-inch" main camera sensors that most competitors from China now use, the Japanese company's mobile division chose another one from its ever-expanding roster, and, as usual, went its own way. Well, aside from the chipset choice - the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is everywhere this year, including here.
The finishing is unique and exquisite, the screen is still 4K, and still narrow, and reasonably bright, expandable storage is available as is a 3.5mm headphone jack, and while the interface is stock-ish, Sony does add a lot of its own touches on top of the basic Android experience.
There's a lot of focus on creators with the Xperia 1 V, and there are still three camera apps on board. Don't miss the walkthrough in our video review above, and if you want an even deeper dive into this device, make sure you read our in-depth written review.
