Panasonic announces 2-in-1 Toughbook G2 with 18.5h battery life and modular accessories

Panasonic just unveiled its newest 2-in-1 Toughbook G2. This is a Windows 10-powered detachable PC with three modular expansion slots called x-PAK’s. The expansions offer extra functions like serial interface, thermal camera, barcode scanner, or a quick-release SSD. The new ToughBook G2 will be backwards compatible with “most Toughbook 20 and G1 docks”.

There’s a 10.1-inch display capable of reaching peak 1000 nits of brightness, and its powered by Intel Core i5 and i7 v Pro processors preloaded with Windows 10. The Toughbook G2 is rated for 18.5 hours of battery life and the device now has three programmable buttons on the front.

The Toughbook G2 works in both tablet and laptop modes with the optional keyboard and an optional mount will let you secure it to a vehicle or desk. Other features include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and Dual SIM connectivity. The tablet can be configured with 16 or 32GB of RAM, and 512 or 1TB of the OPAL quick-release SSD.

The Toughbook G2 arrives in the same year as the original Toughbook’s 25th anniversary. The Toughbook G2 starts at $2999 and is available to corporate customers through authorized sellers.

what shall I do with 10.1" display? that's not a notebook anymore.

16 or 32 GB ram sounds good but what about graphic cards and many else like camera. Thery said it have thermal camera option as add on but what about normal camera. How fast is HDD what other conectors and which devices this thing will and can sup...
