ive had this phone a week now, and its think its fab!! the greatness of it makes up for the size, but to be honest, the size is okay anyway!! its full of features, and the photos are amazing quality!! just one question for anyone else who has this phone tho - do you have to use the button to flip it open, or can you just pull it open without the button?
i recomend this phone to anyone its a right angel :)

I've owned this phone for about three weeks, and overall I'm not too impressed. I'm just going to list some of my main opinions of it.

    THE GOOD
    + Flip button is nice
    + Photos are high quality
    + Many features
    + Decent screen

    THE BAD
    - Ugly interface/fonts
    - Video quality is poor
    - Battery life worse than expected*
    - MMS is listed above SMS and this annoys me
    - Status lights are pretty useless
    - T9 dictionary adds its own words**
    - Startup/shutdown screens display Carphone Warehouse advertising and cannot be disabled***
    - Erratic behaviour****

    * was advertised as 450 hours. My 2-year old Nokia has an advertised battery life of 300 hours and lasts 5-7 days. The VS6 manages 3 days maximum, even when not using it.

** apparently Jtsu is now a word.

*** perhaps this is not a problem for most people. Manufacturer/network logos are expected, but I do not expect to be greeted with "Carphone Warehouse - for a better mobile life".

****includes randomly choosing to send photos as MMS messages rather than saving them, transmitting my phone's Bluetooth name as "CPW Ben" when I clearly named it something else, and changing my background picture to a photo that I deleted TWO WEEKS AGO.

Maybe I was just unlucky with that last point. Without those I could probably say this was a decent phone with a few minor interface niggles. As it stands I'm not happy.

And I'm not keen on my phone being a portable Carphone Warehouse advert.

Just a quick update - I bought a usb data cable on ebay for the Panasonic X800 phone and it works fine with the VS6. It only cost me £1.45 + postage as well !

Can the pictures taken from the vs6 be compared with the w800 or d600??

Some people were asking about the picture&movie quality etc.
*the pictures on the phone screen are very nice tbh but don't expect "real digital camera" photos! the 1600x1200 is quite big but the noise reduction "sucks" so with a lack of light your pictures aren't that great.
*The movies can be up to 59seconds i think, but the quality is poor, even on the phone screen you can see the 'pixels'!

If you consider them as gadgets, they're fun.
Alfter all, for the price, the phone is magnificent!
            Hope this helps yall.

I bought one of these last week from Carphone Warehouse. Well pleased but can't get the bluetooth to work between my PC and the phone (works ok phone to phone). I've been trying to buy a usb data cable for it but can't find one anywhere. However, I noticed that the code for the usb cable on the Panasonic website is the same for the VS6, VS7 and X800, so assumed that they must require the same cable !. I managed to find a cable for £1.45 on ebay for the X800 so I've ordered one and I'll let you know if it works.

Answers to mmore; you can buy a datacable at eu.gsm or at ebay. Also in Holland you can join the Panasonicbox site for free downloads.

got this one for 3 weeks now.
data cable not included, so i bought a blue tooth dongle (cellink BTA 3120)
drivers are not compateble with windows XP, SP2.
after a long google search i found widcomm drivers for my blue tooth dongle.
everything works fine, ringtones, pictures and wallpapers going up and down between pc and vs6.
uploading games(jar/jad)doesnt work with the vs6, the phone doesnt support it?
also tried several edit progs, but the VS6 is not compatible with this programs.
i`m happy with my phone, but the support from panasonic is very poor.
in holland you cant find a usb cable or any software related to the panasonic vs6.

Hello! First of all I want to say that I don’t speak English very good.
A few days ago I bought VS6 and now I’ve got some questions:
                          1) Is it possible to view only one Contacts List (Phonebook or SIM card)?
                          2) Is it possible not to be disabled by itself the ability to be the phone viewable by other Bluetooth devices?
                          3) Is there any faster way to change the Profiles?
                          4) Can I make my own envelopes to store into them SMSs (the incoming ones also)?
                          5) Is it bad to open the flip by my hand and not by pushing the button?

                                hi nathan

                                thanks for the replies.

i actually found out what you said by making various trips down to the car phone warehouse this wk. typical that they didn't tell me that in the first place when i first went down there and it didn't mention nothing of the sorts on their site.

anyway i'm about to purchase my vs6 from the site very soon on the cheapest option. just hopw when i get it delivered what they said about the mobs all being in a unlocked state are true.

am a bit dissapointed that they do not sell the usb/data leads though or it doesn't come with the mob itself. anyone found out where the cheapest place to purchase them is?

the staff in my local carphone warehouse are quite dim. i asked about the red and black version to which they said they didn't stock it. but however they could order me in a red/black cover for it if i wished to do so. yet this site states there is no covers/facias for the vs6. aarrggh, lol.

The mobile vs6 cannot be used as a modem to connect a laptop to Internet. This is a serious limiataion.
I was mislead by the company show room in Chennai, India where I was told that this feature was available.
I am corresponsing with the company regarding this misrepresentation.
It appears some of the older models have this feature but not this model..Strange..omission of the key feature in a later model..and not highlighting this in the literature..
