Had this phone for several months now. I like the phone.

Here are some drawbacks on this phone:
Bluetooth headsets: The volume is lower than other phone when connected to a headset.

Earpiece volume: Even when on the highest volume, you still have a hard time hearing sometimes.(like when you are driving)

This phone gets scratched easily. Your finger nails can make it get scratched. When toy drop the phone, Expect it to have some ugly dents.

Okay, that was the con's and here are some PRos.

The sound quality(mp3, ringers) are one of the clearest and best sounding. They are not the loudest, but it is crystal clear.

The screen is is big and bright. ITs better than my digital camera with same screen size.

Auto open with a button is a handy future.

You can download wall papers to match your faceplates on the panasonic box.(just go to ur phone and click on the panasonic box. Its free)

The size is good so you dont drop it while doing things.

Camera is very high quality. Takes nice sharp pictures.

Battery life is good. I never have a problem with it going low on me.(I charge it every night)

The illuminating emoticons are awesome. (They flash different lights with different face expressions on text messages)

You can read txt with the phone being closed.

Use your camera's flash as a flash light(Just go to camera, turn on flash, and close the lid and voila~ a flash light that is bright and handy)

THere are more, but i gotta go catch my sleep. Hope this helps some people considering this phone. I would recommend it.

hahaha let me clear things up for every1 here ok?!

this phone is way too old, so pls stop commenting about its memory, sound or wahtsoever,

about the 3g panasonic phones sum1 is talking about, sorry to say but thething that panasonic was saying about focusing on making 3g phones is that those phones weren't meant for the world but are strictly for japan. uhm, they've already made phones with the help of NTT DoCoMo all DoCoMo phones starting with the letter "P" means that its developed, created and made by panasonic, and u can easily distinguish those phones since it pretty much looks like this,,

last thing, Panasonic has closed all of its plants that are making these phones w/c means they are too dead for upgrade and stuff like that so i wouldn't recommend u buying these stuffs

There is a way to make mic&earpiece volume louder. Ask someone to call you and switch to speaker mode. Default volume is 2, rise it to 3 (you can rise to 4 but it will be very loud, believe me). Talk a little to test it then hang up (by the way, once I switched to speaker mode I couldn't switch back during this call, strange). On the next call you will hear the difference :)

panasonic has given up gsm /gprs or so calles 2g phones to concentrate only on 3g phones.. As of yet ive heard nowt but its likely they will suddenly burst onto the market with a bunch of fones & they may even be secretly testing hspda fones as thats the next step ???

I have had this phone for 2 weeks and so far i really like it. The only thing that disapoints me is the memory 32 mb is kind of small but sense i already have a MP 3 player it doesn't bother me that much. Alot of people complain that its too big but after have the Sidekick II for a year nothing is "Big" to me. dispite the size the weight of the phone is remarkably light. O and the battery is really good so far 1-2 weeks without charging my phone..this by far is the best phone i have had so far

                        to DW and Alan
i just got V3 the other day and i also have same problem with you guys.....
i tried to solve the problem but there was nothing i can do :(
it seems resonable that it is because of this phone is not made for t-mobil, but my opinion is that this phone is tribrand which is applicable for several carrier so itt shoud not have this situation.
does anyone familier about this problem?
                        thank you.

Panasonic Mobile Communication is not Dead....... It is true that the manufacturing company in Phils was closed but production was transfer to Beijing. This is bec Panasonic is now concentating on the development of much advance 3G phones also similar on the japan Docomo phone that u can actually use the phone like a credit card that the actual phone will be scan. ( Malupit di ba? ) FYI .... In japan market(not GSM phones) Panasonic is still one of the leader in mobile phones. There is still lots of service center for panasonic so dont worry.

                            TO PREVIOUS USER:
                            Panasonic is NOT DEAD!!!
                            Think what you say!
CURRENT PANASONIC PHONES HAVE ENOUGH DEMAND IN MATURE ASIA!!!!!

There is no simply no need for Panasonic to pump up any new models until it accomplish a significant progress in photo/video technology for mobile phones. And in earlier 2007 Panasonic will anounce new series of phones with real photo/video capabilities!!!! (MOST LIKELY with real optical zoom , leica lens and Panasonic's famous O.I.S.)

Just look at Panasonic's new line of
digital cameras which is coming up in September: FX07, FX50, LX2!!!!
Look at things those cameras can do!!!

                                  =======================

You cannot use FOMA handsets outside of Japan, even if they are WCDMA (3G). FOMA phones cannot be unlocked - full stop. No one has ever achieved to unlock a FOMA WCDMA or tri-band phone (that I know of).

Do not be tempted to buy any FOMA phone off eBay as you will never be able to use it locally.

don't buy panasonic coz they don't make gsm phone anymore for international market. they are now concentrtating on domestic market only though they have said they are going to make 3g phones but have yet to come out with any yet.
