It's too early to say anything about this amazing phone. But I am sure that this phone has excellent reception (thanks to external antenna - and for me it is advantage), and standby autonomy (very good, although Philips can do this still better). It is mine as soon as appear in the market!

Philips give up to produce phones!
I don't know where I can buy it?
In France...no, in Austria... no, in
Switzerland...no......only in the
Netherlands?
That's not enough to be a great phone producer!

Some people can't take it that philips phones are getting better and better, and for the people who don't know the facts. Philips sold so much phones last year that it was the best year ever.

Philips used to make better phones. I quite agree that they do, or should I say did have good designs. My friend had an old Philips (Twist, I think?) and it was one of the best of its time (which was about 5 or 6 years ago, and with only Nokia and Ericsson as competitors). The old model Nokias had good designs too. I owned a 3210, 3310, and 8250 before so I have first hand experience. They were very simple and user-friendly yet sleek and stylish. But the thing is, they started to dwell too much on "techy-ness" while sacrificing simplicity and functionality. Pardon me, but I think their designs are starting to get a bit ridiculous. I'm not saying they are not good phones. It's just that there are better ones.
But, as they say, "to each his own..."
I kinda admire Sony-Ericssons because they are practical and robust. Even the old Ericssons are good. My first phone is an Ericsson GA628 and it is light and easy to use, not to mention very affordable. And the overall design is sensible. I have to admit that their new phones are a bit complicated too, but their applications are very useful and fun. Their designs are not perfect but they are close. And they have fewer service centers and after-market parts and accessories than Nokia but certainly more than Philips. I study Industrial Design so I think I have the right to blow my thoughts off on this matter.
Oh, and I don't think it is a person's ability to SPELL that makes one a good judge of design. Call me undeducated, but at least I'm not a sour grape. We are talkin' mobile phones, not home appliances. Lastly, I think Panasonic makes better appliances than Philips, so don't bother using that excuse for Philips' lack of design flare on their phones.

Firstly, Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones are not really good as claimed by the 12 year old 'Phillips DESASTER' who cannot spell to save his life (It's disaster you cretin). That just shows you the kind of childish uneducated people who buy and worship the likes of Nokia and Sony Ericsson. Secondly, the person below me, please learn how to spell properly before you post and learn how to speak fluent English as most people won't know what the hell you are blabbering on about. Either that or go and get yourself a good dictionary.
Finally, Phillips are good phone makers. Don't bash them through the name, they are just amateurs in the phone market but let's try and see Nokia make a radio or TV, you can damn well bet the Finns will lag behind in producing state of the art radios.

I'll tell you something about Philips.
Philips produce lots of things: radios,
mp3-Player & so on. Really good mobile
phone producers like Sony Ericsson or
Nokia don't do this.
So they are better in prooducing phones
than Philips.
Philips give up to produce phones!

No it's not a joke i've got my information from several informants (people who are working from philips), and you can also read this information on mobile-review.com. As far as I know all these models will be introduced this year.
There is also one thing I have to say; last year philips was supposed to bring also the 830 model, but that didn't happen. Why I don't know.

What the fark is Philips up to? No in-built digital camera, no infra-red and no bluetooth? This phone is worst than the 535 man!
