This phone is great! It is cheap and good! Too bad it didn't include an FM Radio function. It was nice of Philips to include a flash to the camera. I also like the slider thingy but after observing it, I didn't quite like the design of the phone because the edges are rounded. I hope that Philip can include FM Radio on the next phone and also an OS like Symbian. If Philips get to do so, it will definitely beat those giant mobile phone markets with its competitive price. Keep up the good work Philips!

This phone seems to come from BenQ, and is also
    available as Siemens SG75.

it is true 'bout the phones using philips parts, though the supplier is not the mobile phone division. philips supplies a lot of the chips and lcd screens to the mobile phone makers. the former cannot be seen unless you really tear the phone apart and the latter doesn't have the philips logo cos since it is incorporated into the customer's hardware.

here's another announcement showing philips semiconductors again leading the way for the next generation mobile technology http://www.aahandy.com/www.gsmarena.com/news-detail118.php.html

Considering Philips' previous product lines, this one is a high-end Philips phone. It is elegant, too. Their prices are always affordable (heard about 450 USD), and their operating systems are solid. I'd prefer this one over the stone-age S60 series of phones. Add the 2mp camera too.

According to a Taiwan website , the Philips 960 has NO LINUX OS. Don't know how reliable this source is. It also mentioned that Philips is gonna be released in October and the display is NOT QVGA. Quite different fron what I expected before.

Philips make one of the best quality camara's, Philips is also the very best in data and telecommunucation, I bought the 535 and it never and never fail. Nokia is for people who also believe that nak is the best deck.

lot of confusion... of course nokia is better- video call, high data trans, radio fm- but i think u can say 6280 is better only if these phones( Philips960 and Nokia6280) will have the same price. compare tehnical data but also compare the price. Allways
