The phone support up to 512MB MMC/SD card but i believe it can go to 1GB. Hot-changeable but need to remove cover first. Colour is there in the info 3 choices. Upgrade firmware? I'm not sure for this. The official distributor is ORA Telecommunications & SAMART malaysia. Can find a Philips distributor at Menara Axis. Limitation to Memory card is unknown. But i read that you can only copy up to 350KB files from memory card to internal memory

The thing about Philips mobile phones is that they are not very popular in Malaysia so you might want to evaluate the support and service availability. Go visit one of the biggest mobile phone centres in Sungai Wang Plaza or Low Yat Plaza and ask around. In fact the technical experts at the mobile phone repair shops don't carry the spare parts unless you are talking about Nokia, Sony Ericsson. Even Alcatel mobile phone spare parts are difficult to find.

Don't know much about Linux OS but the Motorola A780 smartphone is using it. The Palm 5.4 OS (Garnet) is one of the fastest and easiest to use plus many popular yet powerful Palm-based multimedia and business applications such as QuickOffice, etc. A handful of smartphones such as Samsung SCH-i539 are running on it. The odd thing is Palm, Microsoft and Verizon Wireless will soon introduce the new Treo 700w running on Windows Mobile 5 instead of Palm! Go figure..

This is a linux phone but Philips lock all the possibility to install program on this phone.
Can you get a non-smart phone that does file viewing and editing ? As far as i know ! NO!!! so this apply to Philips 960 as well. This is not smart phone just a Philips written OS for its phone. Can't ask for so much with the price of this phone I believe if the brand of this phone is Nokia then the price will be something like 600-850USD! How much you pay for this phone think twice! I believe next version of philips phone will be well better... maybe a touch screen smart phone...

Most of the current mobile phones have built-in document viewers (if not editors) to view important information or tables while on the move. It would also be a serious limitation without the ability to install business tools to view/edit/create them.

Phone can store to 350kb in internal memory so you can only copy 350kb thing into the phone If you are storing the video at the memory card then it is unlimited of time you can capture the video but the phone support up to 512MB MMC/SD card only

                    Hello_all
As long as i know it is unavailable to load different as this function is not stated at the manual but i may be wrong

There is some bad thing for the phone The supported memory card is too low 512MB only
It is not symbian phone, even it is using linux os Philips make it impossible to install any program
There is limitation like 350kb to transfer into the phone
Doesn't have radio and cannot play MPEG4.. movie stored in .3gp

if this slider phone is a copy of another high end brand model...then all brand copied the CDMA KYOCERA SLIDER and they parted from it!!

by the way...is this cellphone available for the Americas?

It looks cool. Does anyone know whether it has any photo editing features and MS office tools/applications to view, edit, and create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations while on the go? If it has all that, then it is the ultimate smartphone for me.

this phone is nice & cool with all of its features. bad thing here is we the employees of philips philippines doesnt have the priveledge/opportunity to have this great gadget in our company. no ads or promos about this thing. it is better if the employees of philips philippines will have this stuff, for sure the philips mobile phone can compete or tops the other competitors.

I found a very good website. It is not in English, but there are some 3gp movies and many photos taken by this phone. If anyone knows the language of this website, this website will be very helpful.
