I just got the phone on the 31st Dec. Bluetooth Innovation. I put 1GB SD. It works fine. A bit slow compare to if I put 512MB SD.
I use to use SE P800. Still have it. Wanna change for a while. tired of PDA phone. Philips 960 is quite impressive. The SD file structur also support multiple sub folder.
Good thing it can sync with Lotus also not only with MS-Outlook.
Mobile Phone Tools, quite cool. I can convert/produce all the media, sond video, etc. Life online mode with my notebook. I can do all the task of the phone, sms, call, etc using the software.
Two negative points are that, it cannot do multi tasking, e.g mp3 listening while u r sms-ing. And Phone book capacity only 500 contacts in the phone memory. Well hv to live with it though, it's a phone NOT a PDA.
The three connection device (irda,usb,bluetooth) share the same port i guess. have to use one at the time.
Overall I am satisfied, it's valued for money, with all the features loaded. BTW, the camera result of 2 MB pixels also very good.

Hy,i find it on ebay but i'm italian and the language of the phone is only english and chinese and the manual is only chinese. Does anyone tell me if it's possible to upgrade the phone with european language and where i can find it?

Anyone who already got this phone..
1. Can play MP3 in the background while doing other things? Read SMS..etc?
2. Can charge the phone while connecting to the pc via USB cable?
3. Is the MP3 ringtone loud enough?

philips Mobile phone have a road show in Loy Yat Plaza from 2 January 2005 - 8January 2006...so..if your guy want to buy this phone..can try Loy Yat plaza Bluetooth Innovation or philips Road show(Loy yat Plaza Ground floor).

I got my Philips 960 in Loy Yat plaza --- Bluetooth Innovation shop --Level 1. (the salesmen told me philips Mobile phone have a road show in Mid Valley Exhibition Centre
30 December 2005 - 1 January 2006...so..if your guy want to buy this phone..can try Loy Yat plaza Bluetooth Innovation or Mid valley Road show.
Bluetooth Innovation is one of the bigger Mobile shop in Loy Yet....easy to find..

i just got it yesterday...i love this phone a lots..and dont worry about after sale service...philips mobile phone authorised service centres is in all around malaysia...for example Bandar sunway , kuala lumpuer berjaya plaza, malaca, kuching, kota kinabalu, kota bharu, penang, ipoh, Johor Bahru, kuantan (info from Warranty card) ..new philips Handphone distributor --Ora telacommunication...)
let talk about this Product...i am using 256 MB memory card...
video --for the Video Length u can change to "unlimited" more than 45 min should be not problem...(depend on your memory card right ?)

managed to see the phone...looks damn good in white , but its only available in silver for now. Loaded with features that put many a phone to shame and its really cheap. awesome camera and good special effects. The plilips rep was a fairly knowledgeable guy and the service is not bad too. up for sale now. getting one as soon as i dispose off my current phone

Went to the shop selling Philips in Low Yat but they r not even selling it. The sales guy even advised me against buying the phone as there are no SPARE PARTS at all in M'sia. Went to check at the so called Philips show room the other day but even they do not have it yet and have to order from the distributor. How strange...Even saw that their ppl who service the products of Philips are part timers...guess tat is how their after sales service are...

been to lowyat and sg wang last week. din see any shop selling or any promotion held. the distributor is Ora telecommunication and not I-mobile, the previous model distributor. even if manage to buy the phone from distributor, i am not very confident bout the after sale services. look like have to go for other brand i guess.

yeah it's out in m'sia, and i really like it but what's making me hesitate is that it has no after-sale service... i tink that's due to the fact that it's philips.. they're sorta new at this aren't they?? it looks great, being a slider and all. +="

How to get philips handphone in Malaysia? actually u can visit Bluetooth Innovation shop at Loy Yat Plaza. (i think level 2/3)or u can call directly to Samart-I Mobile (HQ at Jalan Ampang). The distributor of Philips hp in Malaysia (forgot the phone no - but u can get their advertisement in main newspaper)

u can get philips phone in Malaysia by visit to Low Yat Plaza KL. i'm using Philips Xenium 9@98. Great battery life but very sad no organizer....eventhough calendar. very basic phone.

this phone already out in malaysia but so far i haven heard any promotional advertisement or roadshow...wondering anybody already using this phone on street??? not familiar with philips phone but this one look good with its function and price. any setback??

Features on paper wise its real good, but haven't really got 2 feel n touch it. Was really interested in this phone more than the W800i or W550i. Like the others here in Malaysia, was interested with the price & the features but was really disappointed being unable to find at any handphone shops other than the distributor. Tried to call the service center which was no help. Dun even know what specs it has. Gave me a number to a guy in Philips which was not around all the time. Conclusion? Service sucks! NO SERVICE AT ALL! N decided to buy W550i.Called the service center, very helpful eventhough i can't upgrade the firmware yet. Help me learn something more about the phone. So, forget bout this phone in Malaysia.

Where is it available online ?
This "high-end" for 2005 was announced for "end 2005" in Europe but many rumors say Philips will stop sales mobile Phone in West Europe ?? And 960 will be cancelled ! Hope it's wrong.....
