I have not charged the phone since my last post 11 days ago. Today is the first time it displayed the empty battery warning.
All in all a good result: 11 days on a single charge with about 8 hours of talk time. Just a little bit short of the two weeks I hoped for, but it definitely seems possible to get 2/3 weeks of standby if you're careful. The Auto Power Off/On helps as well.
Good phone otherwise as well. Good feel, good call quality.

this phone has no java, than you'll have to buy the 9@9u or q or w which also have extended batterylifes, however not as outstanding as this 9@9k. it has wap 2.0 browser and thats it, no opera etc. its a us$ 100.- phone, what do you expect ??
same as for sound quality, its not bad, but it isn't high class either and indeed, there is an equalizer but it doesn't work. and the other hand the phone supports bluetooth stereo headset !! ( only in mp3 format ).

Got this phone 2 days ago. I like the phone model and looks, but bought it for the battery life. So far it is not looking very good. I have a 1850mAh battery and after one day of moderate use the battery indicator has gone from full to 3/4 full. I will see how it performs the next few weeks. I don't expect to get 2 months of use out of a single charge but 2 weeks I think should be reasonable.
An other minus is the poor sound quality of MP3 over headphones. I cannot hear any difference between different EQ settings (e.g. "Bass Boost", "Hip Hop", "Rock", etc). Calendar is limited to 30 events (according to the manual), this is a bit disappointing.
Otherwise pretty quick in menu's, fairly easy to use and decent build quality. But of course the reason to buy this is the battery.

If it has a quadband version with no camera, I'll buy it for sure.

i am using this phone aside from a 9@9u and i am very satisfied with the features / promises / price combination. I can easily use it 4 - 5 days on 1 charge while with nokia and ericsson with features like this phone and same use 12 - 18 hours.
the phone is very easy to use, very fast reacting. camera low end. Mp3 players plays any kind of song saved in the formats m4a, wav, aac, mp3 indeed. You can even use a bluetooth stereo headset but than only with mp3 songs. one of the comments is right, you can only save 1 mobile number under one name, but you can also save under the same name a score of other numbers , complete address, email add etc. Of course new addresses can be added to the phone book, however when you open the phone book and go to 'add new', you should press 'ok' and not 'options' to be able to add another entry.
I find the battery life simply amazing. I wonder what tweety is doing with his/her phone ? Do you play the mp3 player all day through the loudspeaker ?
Warning: in contrary to 9@9u, this one does not play mp3 in the back ground.

To question from davao: signal strength is really outstanding as with most philips phones. However not with all ( Philips 960 for instants ). Signal with this one really good, also in hidden away area's and death spots.

My name is Cristi and I have the same phone, but my battery is SHT.... it has 1850mAh but doesn' stay on stad-by more that 4 days.... Q: Is there a special setting for the phone in order for the stand-by to be extended, or is the type of battery different?!?

I have this phone 1 months.
1. Design - OK
2. Usage of this phone - I have a huge numebr of questions to developers of its SW. I couldn't work with it comfortable after Nokia.
3. I could not recevie business card from other phones (only from Philips)
4. I could not add phone to existing contact.
5. I could not have more than 1 mobile (for example) phone for one person in address book.
6. Menu - stuped.
7. Theme (default) is stuped (black). I could not manage use or not Theme. I could not manage display settings (background, font color and etc.)
But, probably I will use it because - Buttery is SUPER.

I asked for help.
I bought 9@9k 1 week ago. When I put the sim card in it, the display showed Rabbit. Supposed it showed the name of service provider.
I want to know what had happened and how to remove the name of service provider?

This is great mobile phone for me! I used to want to a entry level mobile phone with basic multimedia specifications. I bought this phone and I'm very happy. Charge is perfect(15-20 days). Camera is vey bad but this isn't important for me.

Up to 17 hour is not possible. Cause I will by a 9@9k hand set. Maximum talk time is 4 to 5 hours, stand by time 2 days.
