Poco F7 Ultra in for review
Say hello to the Poco F7 Ultra, the first Ultra phone from the brand. While its official launch is still a few days away, our review unit made its way to the office, and these are our first impressions.
The device comes with a black silicone case, a power adapter and a USB-C cable. It's a pretty solid kit, considering what you get from some competitors.
Our F7 Ultra unit comes in the bold Poco yellow color. There’s a quad-curved glass back which helps with ergonomics so it doesn’t dig into your palm like some other sharper phones do. Our scales measured the F7 Ultra at just over 210 grams, which is in line with last year’s Poco F6 Pro.
Poco also incorporated a double-texture finish on the back. The top half is glossy, while the bottom gets the matte treatment, which should fare better against fingerprints. The top houses a round camera island that sits off-center. You get the usual flat metal frame with the power and volume buttons on the right-hand side.
There’s a flat 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate upfront. It boasts some pretty slim bezels and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
A few quick words on the software, we’re running Xiaomi HyperOS 2 (for Poco) out of the box. The Android 15-based UI feels just like the ones on the recent crop of Xiaomi and Redmi phones, complete with Xiaomi's HyperAI suite and Google Gemini support.
That’s all we can share for now. Stay tuned for the F7 Ultra’s global launch next week!
