Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 up for preorder, shipping date revealed

Yordan, 25 January 2017

We’ve said a lot about Huawei Mate 9. It’s Leica dual-camera is amazing, the battery is fascinating and can last two days with normal usage and the design is slick. But when the device was revealed in Germany back in November, another phone actually caught the eye - Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9.

This is the first partnership between the design company and Huawei and now you can preorder the product of their collaboration for ‘only’ €1395.

There’s a lot in common between the regular Mate 9 and the designer’s one. The chipset is an octa-core Kirin 960, the battery is 4000 mAh in both devices and the camera is dual-sensor Leica (12MP RGB + 20 MP Monochrome).

The differences are that the Porsche Design Mate 9 has 6GB RAM and 256 GB internal memory and comes with a 5.5” dual-curved QHD display. The regular handset stretches to 5.9” but only offers 1080p resolution on its flat screen.

A physical button is placed on the front panel with the fingerprint sensor within it rather than on the back.

The device is available for preorder at Porsche Design’s website. The site also lists a shipping date - January 31. If you are interested you can follow the link below to reserve your unit.

Yeah, they make a lot of products - all of them being mostly cheap and average quality. So yeah... my point still stands.
