Qualcomm files patent infringement complaints against Meizu in the US, Germany, and France

After initiating multiple license terms and patent infringement-related actions against Meizu in China back in June this year, Qualcomm announced this past weekend that it has now filed patent infringement complaints against the Chinese company in the United States, Germany, and France as well.

Specifically, in the US, a complaint with the country's International Trade Commission (ITC) has been filed, while in Germany a similar complaint has been filed with the Mannheim Regional Court. In France, Qualcomm has initiated an infringement-seizure action.

"Meizu’s refusal to negotiate a license agreement in good faith and its sales and distribution of infringing products around the world leave Qualcomm with no choice but to protect our patent rights through these additional legal proceedings," said Qualcomm's executive vice president and general counsel Don Rosenberg.
