Anonymous, 06 Jun 2020Modern low and even most mid range phones still fall behind... moreOh I know full well what I'm talking about. The 200 euro Redmi 10X 5G has significantly better performance. Because even low end chips like the Dimensity 820 beat the now garbage 835.
And did you seriously just say it's about as good at the 730, and mean it in a good way unironically? The 730 is a slow piece of trash. An absolute disgrace. And Google is notorious for releasing slow garbage phones. Can't even optimize their OWN software to be faster than what OnePlus, an entirely separate company has done. Google always releases their phones 7 months too late for them to be even slightly competitive. The fact that you mentioned the insanely low end and overpriced 4a makes me want to laugh.
Do some research kid. The 835 isn't gonna hit anywhere near 120 fps in anything. My phone's 835 can hardly hit 60 in anything even slightly demanding. And 8 gigs of RAM ain't gonna change that fact.

Anonymous, 26 May 2020Hello, I am looking for to buy this phone and have a que... moreI repurchased a used model as I have missed this phone since I sold it 3 years ago. I missed the FLAT screen not the curve edge screen crap you get on most new phones. The speakers are loud but not the best in sound quality I'm afraid. The large speaker grills are bit misleading somewhat and attracts many dirt which is a pain to clean.

joe nodden, 04 Jun 2020Why would you buy one in 2020? It's literally a gaming phon... moreModern low and even most mid range phones still fall behind snapdragon 835's gaming performance, so you don't even know what are you talking about. It is about as good as sd730(the cpu in the upcoming pixel 4a!). This phone has amazing 120hz screen with front speakers(awesome feature that is unfortunately extinct from modern phones), it is still fully up to date. 8gb of ram are still a lot, more than enough. You can upgrade to android 10 with lineage os too.

Anonymous, 26 May 2020Hello, I am looking for to buy this phone and have a que... moreWhy would you buy one in 2020? It's literally a gaming phone, and the one thing that makes gaming phones good, the performance, is so out of date that even modern low end phones beat it. And don't even get me started on the cameras or battery life.

Hello,
I am looking for to buy this phone and have a question for long-term users ?
I have found a brand new unsealed one for sale locally, and am trying to make up my mind
Main reason to want it - the good speakers.
But :
From what i've read over the time, people seem to love it, but various problems start to occur.
So
Is there anybody out there who's still using a Razer Phone 1st gen WITHOUT experiencing any sort of problems with it.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

Hey Razer, loving your phones.. so much I have one stored for when I've worn this one out. I'm trying to find what light sensor you use so I can compare it's efficiency for taking lux readings

Got a refurbished one of ebay, worked wonderfully for about 2 months, then became completely unusable because of something called ghost touch, which apparently is quite common with this model. have tried everything the internet could throw at me in terms of a solution but nothing worked and in fact its just gotten worse. I would seriously recommend you look at other options before buying this phone. It has caused me nothing but frustration.

An incredibly powerful phone with awesome display and good speakers. My speakers developed a cracking noise when volume is above 50% which is quite annoying but seems to be caused by the dirt accumulating in the grille. Otherwise I absolutely love the phone. Blistering fast, silky smooth 120Hz display and battery life is incredible even after more than 1 year of daily pounding. Can get 2 days with normal usage or 1 day if I play games or abuse it in any way.

s-pen pusher, 18 Jan 20194 months after purchase and the charger stopped working. 5 ... moreFrom what I can piece together is that Razer's HQ is in California but they don't have return centers in multiple regions, it might be only in Singapore which was why their customer service told you to ship your phone there and the long wait is just a standard estimate, the repair process and when they ship the phone back to you can be done faster depending on what part of your Razer Phone is having problems.
Also if what you said is true, only Razer's technicians in Singapore and the factories they sub-contracted to have access to both the technical manuals and parts for the Razer Phone and Phone 2 which is why the phone repair shops in your country dared not even open and repair your phone despite they can buy the parts for it lest you want a phone that cannot stick back together because of the way how Razer designed it.

4 months after purchase and the charger stopped working. 5 months after purchase the screen developed an issue, which i found upon research online that it is common with this phone- half the screen freezes and would not respond until you reboot the phone. 6 months after purchase the screen issue got worse and i had to press on the lower back of the device then reboot to make the screen work, which apparently indicates there is something loose inside (could be the lcd controller). tried to contact support for warranty claim but they want me to send the device to singapore and that it may take up to 4 months. tried to have it checked by razer authorized dealers here in manila but none of them would even let me demo the issue because their technicians said they are not familiar with the device. the screen issue is getting worse by the days as it is now happening several times a day, which forced me to order a pocophone f1.
i won't deny that this phone is great- the 120Hz refresh rate is amazing. really, i compared it with the asus rog phone that has 90Hz refresh rate and the games and scrolling on the razer phone is way smoother. i am not a gamer, so i had my friend who owns the asus rog i compared it with to test gaming on this, and he confirmed it is better than the rog phone. likewise, the front-firing speakers on this beast is the best sounding i have heard on a smartphone. however, this screen issue is a big letdown. i am still hoping this could be repaired locally here in the philippines, but several repair shops i have consulted refused to even open the phone. i was looking foward into buying the razer phone 2 by may or june this year, but i'm thinking twice now.
poco is my love for the meantime.

The charger just falls out and has a bad connection. The camera is garbage. The have NO customer service phone number, only a chat. So, plan on an hour for a simple question. Their customer service all around is garbage. The phone has no headphone jack. This phone gets 5 thumbs down!
