Design and ergonomics

The Realme 10-series is a big departure from the previous generation in terms of design. All oval and rounded elements, or at least most of them, are replaced with flat and sharp edges - more in line with the current design trends in the smartphone industry. More importantly, though, the Realme 10 Pro improves upon dimensions and weight compared to its predecessor.

Despite having a bigger 6.72-inch display (vs. 6.6"), the 10 Pro is a bit shorter, slightly narrower, and has a thinner 8.1mm body. Weight has also gone down by a few grams now, tipping the scale at 190 grams, which on its own is somewhat impressive. There aren't many 6.7-inch smartphones weighing less than 200 grams. Perhaps the all-plastic build helped trim off some extra weight.

Anyway, the back panel features a brushed, matte finish, but you can't mistake it for something other than plastic. It still feels nice to the touch and the Nebula Blue color we got has an interesting hue pattern on the back that can only be seen at a certain angle and under light. The back is also flat and has the two cameras sticking out separately from one another. The metal rings around the cameras protrude quite a bit, but there's no excessive wobbling when placing the device on its back.

The side frame is also flat, giving us iPhone-esque vibes. The power key that doubles as a fingerprint reader lies flush on the right side and sits right below the volume rocker, which protrudes just a little. The power button is in a convenient place, and it's easy to distinguish from the volume keys. The bottom is where the USB-C connector stays, along with the loudspeaker grille and the 3.5mm audio jack. The left part of the frame houses only the SIM card tray.

Realme 10 Pro

Sure, the design is somewhat unique, and if you usually know your way around phones, you will easily guess that it's a Realme 10 phone. And while the style may not be everyone's cup of tea, it's hard to deny the frontal sexy look. Realme demonstrates excellent craftsmanship with the way the side frame transitions into the edge of the display. There's a minimal gap between those and even a very subtle curvature on the very edge of the screen that makes the whole feel very flush and smooth.

And despite being LCD, the bezels are impressively thin. In fact, the bottom lip is one of the smallest we've seen in this price range. What remains relatively bigger than what you'd normally see on an OLED is the cutout for the front-facing camera. It's not obstructive, but the hole is definitely bigger than on an OLED screen.

There's little to complain about, really. The Realme 10 Pro is a finely built device that's also pretty lightweight, with pretty decent dimensions and stands out from the crowd with a different-than-usual design.
