Realme 11 Pro review

GSMArena Team, 21 June 2023.

Introduction

We are back with another Realme review - this time it's the Realme 11 Pro! The Realme Number series has been a popular choice for users on the lookout for a decent mid-ranger, but this year Realme has really improved its game by inviting a renowned ex-Gucci designer Matteo Menotto to join the brand in creating these standout designs for the phone backs.

The Realme 11 lineup should make it to many international markets, unlike the limited Realme 10 series. The Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro+ (already reviewed) are already available in India and China.

The Realme 11 Pro, just like the Pro+ model, features a unique-looking design with an eco-leather resembling Lychee Grain Leather complete with faux 3D stitches and a runway-like split in the middle.

The premium look has allowed the Realme 11 Pro, which is essentially a mid-range device, to punch way above its class.

Realme 11 Pro review

On the phone's front, there is a 6.7-inch AMOLED with 10-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support. That's an update over the LCD panels found on the Realme 10 Pro and 9 Pro.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G chipset is a repacked Dimensity 1080, and it's a capable platform for this mid-range segment, which should offer about 15%-20% boost in the CPU and GPU performance of the Snapdragon 695 5G chip powering the previous Realme 10 Pro and 9 Pro.

The rear camera is quite interesting - it uses a new 100MP OmniVision sensor, and in addition to the promises for excellent photo and video quality, Realme is also promoting it for its 2x lossless zoom. The selfie shooter has a 16MP sensor, but we are yet to see if this one is also a Quad-Bayer one or not.

Other interesting aspects of the Realme 11 Pro include stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos support, a 5,000mAh battery with fast 67W SuperVOOC charging, and the latest Realme 4.0 UI and Android 13 combo.

  • Connectivity: 5G; Dual SIM; Wi-Fi 6; BT 5.2, aptX HD; NFC.
  • Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers.

The Realme 11 Pro has five major differences to the Realme 11 Pro+ - its primary camera uses a 100MP sensor instead of a 200MP one, there are no ultrawide and macro cams, the charging is slower at 67W, the selfie resolution has been halved, and so is the base model storage (128GB instead of 256GB).

But even outside of the comparison to the Realme 11 Pro+, the 11 Pro has a couple of notable omissions. The first one is the lack of any type of ingress protection, even the most basic one. And the other one is the microSD slot - it has been retired in this generation.

Unboxing the Realme 11 Pro

The Realme 11 Pro ships packed into one of those signature yellow boxes. Inside you will find the smartphone, the 67W SuperVOOC charger, and a transparent silicone case.

The Realme 11 Pro also arrives with a thin protective film already applied on its curved display glass. Unfortunately, it's a huge smudge magnet, and we peeled that off.
