Realme 11 Pro review

GSMArena Team, 21 June 2023.

High-end 6.7-inch AMOLED

The Realme 11 Pro has the same display as the Realme 11 Pro+ - it's a 6.7-inch OLED panel of extended 1080p resolution (394ppi), 10-bit color depth, 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch response, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and even HDR10+ support.

The screen has a tiny punch-hole, and thin bezels, and while its protective glass is a bit curved, the panel is flat.

Realme 11 Pro review

Let's explore the features of the screen. First, the 10-bit color depth. This means the display can show over a billion colors, which should eliminate any color banding.

The 120Hz high refresh rate will allow the UI and compatible apps to be rendered at 90fps and 120fps for an incredibly smooth experience.

The 360Hz touch response guarantees immediate reactions, something the gamers should appreciate the most.

And, finally, the 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming reduces strain on the eyes and picture ghosting when using the screen at a brightness lower than 100 nits or so.

It's time for our test results!

The Realme 11 Pro did great on our display test. We captured 790nits of maximum brightness in Auto mode and 474nits when manually controlling it from the brightness slider. Realme has listed 950nits as the maximum peak brightness, and the panel can indeed reach it within a small white patch.

The minimum brightness at point white is 1.8 nit.

Color accuracy

The Realme 11 Pro has four color modes in Settings - Vivid (default), Natural, Pro Cinematic and Pro Brilliant.

Natural corresponds to the sRGB color space, while the other three serve a wide color gamut. We found Cinematic to be quite color accurate to DCI-P3. Each of these modes offers a color temperature slider.

The default Vivid color option offers very good accuracy towards P3 targets, with the only exceptions being the bluish white and grays. The Cinematic Pro mode, and the Natural one, on the other hand, have outstanding accuracy to P3 and sRGB spaces, accordingly.

Refresh rate

The Realme 11 Pro has three refresh rate modes - Auto Select, High, and Standard.

Realme 11 Pro review

The Auto Select and High modes work in a similar way. The maximum 120Hz is used across the user interface and supported apps, while 60Hz is used for static picture, video playback (but not video UI) and incompatible apps like Google Maps and Camera app.

The Auto Mode is a bit more battery-saving. It analyzes the active app, then decides if it's worth using 120Hz. We found that some video apps like Netflix, office apps, among others, are limited to 60Hz.

The only time we saw the screen use 90Hz was on the lockscreen.

Finally, the Standard option is straightforward - the phone always uses 60Hz refresh rate, and all apps are capped at 60fps.

HDR and streaming

The Realme 11 Pro comes with an HDR10+ certified display and Widevine L1 DRM support. It is recognized as HDR10-capable by YouTube, but Netflix serves 1080p SD content and detects no HDR support.

Visual enhancements

The Realme 110 Pro's Display options menu offers two visual enhancements - Video Color Boost and Bright HDR Video Mode. The first one tries to widen the color gamut in SDR content and increases the battery consumption. It is available in a limited selection of apps.

The Bright HDR Video Mode increases the brightness when playing HDR videos and improves the overall HDR experience. It also increases power consumption, of course.

Battery life

The Realme 11 Pro is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, the same capacity as the one inside the Realme 10 Pro and 9 Pro. Realme has shared some official test numbers in its press materials - the phone should last over 29 hours on calls, over 18 hours on videos, over 400 hours on standby, and 8 hours when gaming.

The scores from each individual tests are pretty close to what Realme has advertised and the 11 Pro earns a solid Active Use Score, that's slightly above what the competition has to offer too.

Realme has shared some official test numbers in its press materials - the phone should last over 29 hours on calls, over 18 hours on videos, over 400 hours on standby, and 8 hours when gaming.

Well, we don't test all of these, but the tests we did are a close match to Realme's official numbers.

The Realme 11 Pro gauged a total endurance rating of 112 hours. It did great across all tests - over 33 hours of talking, over 18 hours of web browsing, and over 17 hours of video playback. Note that our video test ends when the battery reaches 10%, so we consider the phone capable of delivering over 18 hours of videos.

Realme 11 Pro review

Our battery tests were automated thanks to SmartViser, using its viSerDevice app. The endurance rating denotes how long the battery charge will last you if you use the device for an hour of telephony, web browsing, and video playback daily. More details can be found here.

The standby consumption was quite frugal, too.

Video test carried out in 60Hz refresh rate mode. Web browsing test done at the display's highest refresh rate whenever possible. Refer to the respective reviews for specifics. To adjust the endurance rating formula to match your own usage patterns check out our all-time battery test results chart where you can also find all phones we've tested.

Charging speed

The Realme 11 Pro supports 67W SuperVOOC fast wired charging and the phone ships with a 67W power adapter and 10A-rated USB cable inside its retail box.

Realme 11 Pro review

Realme advertises a full charge in 47 minutes and 50% charge in just 18 minutes.

We've completed our charging test, and we can confirm the official numbers. We captured 42% charge in 15 minutes, and 50% in 18 minutes.

A full charge took exactly 47 minutes.

The Realme 11 Pro supports their so-called Wise Charging feature, and it's turned on by default. It learns your charging habits, and for overnight charging, it only charges the battery to 80%, filling the last 20% before you are supposed to wake.

Speakers - loudness and quality

The Realme 11 Pro features stereo speakers, just like the Realme 10 Pro, while it's an update over the global Realme 9 Pro and its one speaker. The setup here is of the hybrid variety, where the top speaker has both front-facing and top-facing sound outlets, while the bottom one has just one grille and appears to be louder.

The speakers sound balanced and of similar audio quality, even if the bottom one is louder. But because of their positioning and multiple outlets, when watching movies, playing games or just listening to music, the sound balance is great.

Realme 11 Pro review

The Realme 11 Pro scored a Good mark on our loudness test. The sound quality is good, too; the vocals are great, there is good high frequency representation, and we can hear some bass, too.

Use the Playback controls to listen to the phone sample recordings (best use headphones). We measure the average loudness of the speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a louder sound. A look at the frequency response chart will tell you how far off the ideal "0db" flat line is the reproduction of the bass, treble, and mid frequencies. You can add more phones to compare how they differ. The scores and ratings are not comparable with our older loudspeaker test. Learn more about how we test here.
