Realme 12 Pro+ review
Software and performance
The Realme 12 Pro+ comes with the latest Android 14 out of the box but not without its custom skin on top. The device boots Realme UI 5.0, which is absolutely identical to Oppo's ColorOS 14 and OnePlus' OxygenOS 14, down to the last feature.
We recommend checking out our dedicated review of the Realme UI 5.0 , but keep in mind that not all features listed there are available on the Realme 12 Pro+, since it's a midranger with some hardware limitations.
For instance, Air gestures are out of the mix and there's no alert slider either. But it appears that Realme brought most of the Realme UI 5.0-intrinsic functionalities to the 12 Pro+.
Performance-wise, the software feels snappy and smooth. Absolutely no complaints here.
Speaking of, the Realme 12 Pro+ relies on a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 by Qualcomm, a chipset built on the 4nm process technology and one that is a bit faster version of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. This platform is not as powerful as the 7+ Gen 2 or even the original 7 Gen 1. But it offers a performance increase over the Dimensity 7050 inside the 11 Pro+.
The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 features an octa-core processor with 4x Cortex-A78 @2.4GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 @1.95GHz. There is no Prime here, and the core design is older (2020).
The SD7s Gen 2 uses Adreno 710 GPU, which premiered on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. It is listed to support FHD+ resolution at 144 Hz.
The available memory configurations are 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB and 12/512GB. Our review unit is the 12/512GB one, which seems to be only available in Malaysia out of all the markets where the 12 Pro+ is available. The other markets get the 256GB storage as the highest tier.
Based on the storage speeds we're seeing, the storage of our 512GB review unit is UFS 3.x. Realme doesn't reveal the storage type used in the different storage tiers.
And now, it's time to run some benchmarks.
The Realme 12 Pro+ is definitely not the best performer in its class but ranks somewhere in the middle in most tests, although it fares particularly well in the GPU-intensive 3DMark Wild Life test, where the SoC fails to overtake only the Dimensity 8020-powered Motorola Edge 40. Either way, there are a couple of cheaper options on the list that offer better overall performance. Take the Poco X6 Pro, for example, which runs on a far superior Dimensity 8300 Ultra.
When it comes to sustained performance, the device performs great. It was able to maintain about 86% of the CPU's theoretical performance at stable clock speeds too. Prolonged gaming sessions should feel smooth enough.

hi all, seems that it shots in RAW only with primary camera an only at 1x, so non RAW in telephoto 3x or with primary at 2x? Does someone knows if it was "solved" with an update or if it's possible with GCam? Thanx for answering.

Yes, the resolution is 3 times as high, but the sensor crop of 3 times also only has 0.31μm² in surface area per pixel, while the 12pro+ has 0.49μm² per Pixel. You can also bin to 16MP and you have close to 1.96μm2 of surface per Pixel, ...
