Khan, 11 Nov 2019Bro would you like to tell me about Gcame for Realme 3. i ... moreThese are the best Google Camera for Realme 3. Just type their name on Google and you'll find them:

            1. MGC-7.0.009_MiIXSE.RPII.MiVIII_V0.apk
            - It takes pics immediately and the quality is still comparable to Huawei Y9 Prime 2019.
            - It doesn't need Config file.

            2. Gcam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.6.190614.0200.apk
            - It takes better pics than the one above, but it takes time for HDR to do its job.
            - It needs Config file.

            Config file:
I suggest using Sachin.xml (config file) from Realme 3 Gcam forum on XDA, but make this change:
Settings - Advance - FIX - Max allowed memory - 1680 MB test.

Follow the steps given by HusbanJ to apply the config.

But if you play games, then you should definitely avoid it. It'll probably take around a year for all of the major games to get optimised for it.

Realme 3 can play PUBG fine on HD with Shadows in Classic Mode. To play TDM on HD with Shadows, I use PUB Gfx+ Tool. It pulls around 40FPS with it even in TDM. I can share my settings.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2019hey you seem knowlegdeable about phones. can i ask the diff... moreSure. I suggest going with Realme 3 or Redmi Note 8 instead of Realme 5.

Note 8 is in same price range and has significantly better camera, FHD, 18watt charging, 4500mAh battery and infrared port. Its downside are SD665 and MIUI, but it's much better than Realme 5.
It also needs better Gcam support, but I'm sure users will figure it out soon with config files.

                  1. Built quality:
Realme 5 has a lot of complaints about ghost touch issue. Both on Facebook and Gsmarena.
The fitting of its parts is also lose as compared to Realme 3. It makes a cracking sound in bending tests, which means lower water and dust resistance, and not suited for long term use.
Personally, I consider it lowest quality phone of Realme so far.

                  2. Camera:
Realme 5 doesn't have better camera, except for (maybe) videos. I'll explain shortly. They've similar camera specs, but Realme 5 offers the following:
                  - Ultra Wide camera.
                  - Eis/Real time video stabilisation.
                  - Macro camera, but I don't count it since it's bad and has no real use.

-Ultra wide camera only works for pictures on Realme 5, not videos, and it's only good in daylight. It does work nicely in daylight though.
                  - Realme 3 doesn't have real time video stabilisation, but you can still stabilise videos in its Google Photos app.
*But I don't recommend it for video recording and I don't know if Realme 5 is any better for it.*
                  - I've taken better macro shots on Realme 3 with Gcam than any Realme 5 user has shared in "Realme Photography Group" on Facebook.

                  But that's where it ends.
Both phones support Gcam, but it works better on Realme 3. With Gcam, Realme 3 takes just as sharp and more detailed pictures than 16MP camera phones like Huawei Y9 Prime 2019.
I've compared it with my friend's Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 and thought they were about equal even after zooming in, while my friend said Realme 3 captured better pics.

                  3. Battery:
Realme 5 does have better battery, but I'm positive that Realme 3 battery will be enough for you no matter how heavy of a user you are.

I'm a heavy user and spend over half of my day outside (so high brightness). I play games, use camera, GPS, watch TV series, browse social media everyday. Despite this, I never have to worry about its battery. It doesn't lose even 1% battery while I sleep.

Even right now, I haven't charged it in around 24 hours and I still have 52% battery.
My usage consisted of playing PUBG for 1-2 hours, watching TV shows for 3-4 hours, browsing social media apps and chatting with friends for rest of the time. My SOT was between 10-15 hours for it drop to 52%.

                    does this phone support mhl?

I've been helping Redmi Note 7 users with advise for months, including the best Gcam for them. Your arguments are that of a 10 years old. 80% of my reply to you is going to be just educating you about phones.

First of all, I've told you to check Redmi Note 7 reviews wherever you want. Be it on Gsmarena, random Facebook groups, its discussion forums on Xiaomi's own website. You will find all of the problems I mentioned. Challenge accepted?
Camera is the only reliable thing in RN7. DON'T BE A FANBOY.

                        1. I've never said Realme 3 display is better than RN7. What I've said is this:
RN7 has a lot complaints about its display, speaker, battery, performance, heating, charging time, built quality while Realme 3 has one of the least complaints and best built quality among all budget - midrange phones. Agaiy, go check the reviews.

                        2. Stop lying. Realme 3 only takes 2h 20ish minutes to charge its 4230 mAh battery with 10watt charger. There are hundreds of charging speed videos on YouTube as a proof and also of RN7.
If it had 4000mAh battery, it would take 2h 10ish minutes.

Redmi Note 7 has smaller 4000 mAh battery with 18 watt charger. It doesn't have proper hardware support to charge 80% faster than Realme 3, but you don't know about technical stuff, do you? :)

Do the Math. RN7 should be charging in around 1h 20 minutes. Not close to 2 hours (as you said yourself). That's why I said it charges in *about* same time as 10watt Micro USB phones like Realme 3, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1/M2.
If you still don't get it, I've got one word for you: Fanboy.

                        3. "BUILT QUALITY" is not same as "PREMIUM FEEL". Redmi Note 7 is NOT a premium phone just because it has a glass back, it's a budget phone. Premium phones have glass backs to support Wireless Charging, are you saying RN7 supports it??

Realme 3 is much more durable than RN7. It has better built quality on both paper and reality. A YouTuber (Gupta Information. Go watch it) dropped Realme 3 from 10 feet height multiple times and it didn't get any damage. Not a single scratch on its display or any damage. There are dozens of videos of it being dropped from 6 feet.
Just buy a "back paper sticker" and you don't even need its case. Better than broken back :)

If you think RN7 can survive that, make a video of dropping your RN7 from 10 feet and upload to YouTube.
I promise that I'll be the first to hit like button on your video :D
My RN7 back was scratched just by putting it in same pocket as my earphones!! Not keys, but earphones! Is that Gorilla Glass 6??

                        - Secondly, mobile brands rarely ever use REAL GORILLA GLASS, so having bigger # of Gorilla Glass doesn't mean better scratch resistance.
Only way to test it is via ACTUAL TEST. And according to that, both RN7 & Realme 3 scratch at LVL 6.
The fact you didn't know something so obvious should tell you that you don't have enough knowledge about phones to talk about them.
Fun fact: Gorilla Glass is only for scratch resistance. It doesn't mean it is stronger against drops. That was debunked in 2014.

                        More basic knowledge for you:
                        - Plastic is most durable but has low scratch resistance, so it needs back paper sticker.
                        - Metal has both: durability and scratch resistance. It doesn't need any protection, so it's best.
                        - Glass is least durable (obviously), so it needs a back cover. It does have better scratch resistance than plastic, but it's not good enough to not use a cover or a sticker.

                        4. Excuse me?? Where did I said Nokia 8 has better battery "back up" than RN7? Your English is just as bad as your knowledge on phones. This is what I said:

Nokia 8 has better battery endurance in games like PUBG than RN7. RN7 lasts 4h 30 minutes in PUBG while Nokia 8 lasts 5ish hours. RN7 has lowest battery endurance out of all 4000mAh battery phones. This was an example of how bad it is on heavy usage compared to a 3090mAh phone.

LMFAO, find me a single user review of RN7 on Gsmarena where anyone said its battery lasts 6+ hours in PUBG. I'll wait!!! xD
I've been following RN7 reviews on Gsmarena for months and almost all users said it lasts around 4h 30min in PUBG. I caught you lying red-handed.

My Realme 3 lasts between 7-8 hours normally in PUBG and if I use GFX Tool, it lasts 10+ hours.
And once again, you don't know what you're talking about because PUBG runs on HD resolution by default on Android phones. So both RN7 and Realme 3 play PUBG on SAME RESOLUTION.

                        5. NOPE. Don't even try.
Snapdragon 660, Helio P60, Helio P70 and Kirin 710 are all similarly powerful. You'll need to use a FPS counter to check any difference in performance.
But Kirin 710 is overall better because it has a buffer which helps pull stable FPS compared to the other two while SD660 supports higher MP camera.
If you still haven't realised, I know 10 times more about everything you're talking about.

Secondly, why are you making "guesses" when you claim to own both phones??I know for a fact Realme 3 plays PUBG better than RN7 because:
                        - I've used both phones AND there are hundreds of gameplay videos of RN7 lagging and also some of Realme 3 playing PUBG on HDR.
Please tell me where can I find proof of RN7 at least being able to perform equally?

MIUI is worst OS out of all. I don't recall seeing any MIUI phone having same performance as other OS phones with same chipset.
This is why RN7 performance is lower than:
                        - Underclocked SD660 phone like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2
                        - Snapdragon 636 phones like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.

                        - Nokia 8 with Stock Android, SD 835 beats Pocofone F1 with MIUI, SD 845 in performance.
Pocofone F1 can manage FHD graphics in PUBG at best and heats up after 2 hours despite its cooling system.
Meanwhile, I can play PUBG on Ultra HD on Nokia 8 without heating unless I charge at the same time.

                        6. Once again, where did I said Colos OS is good? You need English classes or Eye Glasses. I merely stated the fact that Color OS allows greater control on your device than MIUI, EMUI, Funtouch. You'll normally need to root your phone to do the kind of tweaks Color OS lets you do. MIUI doesn't even lets you do half of them.

My Realme 3 loses 0% battery over night in 2+ months of my use. I can't think of any other phone that can manage that.
My RN7 used to lose 3-4% at first and then started losing up to 9% overnight. In less than 2 months.

With everything I've shared above and made very easy for you to fact check, I believe we can both agree on the following (if you fact checked):
                        (i) MIUI offers lower performance than phones with other OS. Even Xiaomi's own phones like MI A2 outperforms RN7. It has SD660 & Android One.

(ii) MIUI phones have one of the worst battery endurance due to heavy load of MIUI.

(iii) Their specs are just for show. They never offer you real quality.

You said MIUI has better software support. My question is:
                        (i) Then why does RN7 still has same bugs it did when it came out?
(ii) Why is that almost every time there is a MIUI update on any phone, new bugs are found?

(iii) Why is it that everyone MIUI phone owner on XDA, the biggest Android Developers platform, is asking how to get rid of MIUI? Why do they want to use other OS or even Stock Android instead of MIUI?

(iv) What is your definition of better software support?
Because if it's stability of OS like mine then MIUI is worst of them all. I hope it's not "I waste my time downloading 100s of MBs worth updates every month which mess up my phone every time".

Funfact: OS skins like MIUI, Color OS, EMUI, FunTouch and others can only DECREASE your device performance and battery - and they cause your phone to heat up more.
Stock Android and Android One are the only OS that allows maximum performance and battery with least heating.

                        - Why? Because OS Skins need to take chipset power for themselves. And you say MIUI, which uses up most resources out all OS has best performance than all other OS?
                        Go away, FANBOY.

Anonymous, 07 Nov 2019I've used RN7 too. I wrote quite a few angry reviews about ... moreYou are jus a Highly paid Realme promoter! Everything is bad in Redmi note 7 right?? Are we fool to you?? Camera is not the only thing of Redmi note 7... Even a casual user can tell you that Display is also a major update... Don't promote the product and don't play with other peoples with your fake reviews... Redmi note 7 has Gorilla glass 5 on both front and back where as Realme 3 has Gorilla glass 3 only on front... There is no any water protection so you don't have to give paid review about water test... You don't even know about premium materials...

                            1) Realme 3 has 720p vs Redmi note 7 has 1080p with more DPIs and superior brightness nits...

                            2) Realme 3 tooks 2h 50m to get full charge where as Redmi note 7 tooks 1h 50m with 18w charger, so highly paid promoter who told you that Realme tooks 2h?? And 10w and 18w are same?? There is a huge difference... Claps for you!

                            3) Every premium phone is recognised as a Glass or Metal back design (you should use first then you'll know) and the same premium glass sandwich design is used in Redmi note 7 with plastic frame... Both front panels (Realme and Redmi) scratches at level 6 hardness scale so why are you telling this only for Realme 3?? Any reason?? Where as back panel of Redmi note 7 is made of glass and it's can't be scratched with materials of level 5 or less and Realme 3 back plastic can be scratched even with level 1 ( even with cloth rubbing)... And for your kind information, even the iPhone 11 can't survive the drop test because of Glass material and it's premium, kid! There is not a single problem about Redmi note 7's display... If you'll leave your promotional job then you'll never find any issue on other phones...

                            4) now the battery, you said your Nokia 8 has better battery backup than your Redmi note 7, wow what a funny joke... Nokia 8 battery backup is not even close to good backup so leave this phone and come to Realme 3 and Redmi note 7... Both can play pubg for more than 6 hours with 70% brightness and Realme 3 battery backup is about 1h 30m more than the Redmi note 7 because of 230mah extra power, 720p display and 12nm efficient processor...

                            5) Redmi note 7's SD 660 is more powerful than the Realme 3's Helio P60 especially in GPU department so the games can be played better in Redmi note 7 than Realme 3... Even the benchmark scores are better and your fake review is comparing SD660 to SD636 lol... Let me clear you kid, I have also used Redmi note 5 (SD 636)... Have a look kid! SD 636 < Helio P60 < SD 660... Don't try to fool people with your foolish knowledge...

                            6) Almost the whole world knows that ColorOS is way worst than the Miui and you said the opposite words... Miui and ColorOS both are buggy and incomplete but the Miui (Xiaomi) is way more superior with Easy to use, better development support, better performance, has more features and can be used without any root or teaks because Camera Api's are also enabled... Overall Miui is way way better than ColorOS... Bonus: you can't even turn off the feature ( press power button to end call) on ColorOS... Anonymous, 07 Nov 2019I have used both phones... Are you sure about your comments... moreI've used RN7 too. I wrote quite a few angry reviews about it back in February/March. I'm just more informed than you are.
Only thing RN7 really has Realme 3 beat is camera.
Only real shortcoming of Realme 3 is video recording.

                              1. Redmi Note 7 has Type C & 18watt charging but it charges at about same rate as Micro USB 10watt charging phones like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1/M2 and Realme 3. Around 2 hours for 4000mAh. That's premium? That's fast?

                              2. Redmi Note 7 quality is among worst 3 phones I know of. What you're talking about is called *premium feel*, not quality.
It has most issues and complaints than any other budget/midrange phone, including battery endurance, slow charging, heating, speaker problems, screen problem etc. Read RN7 reviews and I'm sure you'll find 100+ of these complaints in just last few months.
I faced all of them except screen problem, and yes I bought it from official retailer.

Realme 3 is among most durable phones you'll find. It can survive 10 feet drop without any damage and work fine. The display scratches at level 6 and it works fine after being submerged in water for 2+minutes. Only phone that comes close to as durable is Honor 10 Lite.
FYI: You can apply special back stickers for its back. You don't need to use cover.

                              3. Redmi Note 7 has lower battery endurance than my Nokia 8 with its 3090mAh battery in games. N8 lasts 5.5 hours while RN7 lasts 4.5 hours on same graphic settings of PUBG.
Its battery endurance is one of the lowest among 4000mAh phones. So low that 14nm chipset phones like Max Pro M1 battery lasts about twice as long.
After some system tweaks in settings, my Realme 3 lasts minimum 8-12 hours in PUBG depending on graphics/speaker/network etc.

                              4. Redmi Note 7 has lowest performance out of all Snapdragon 660 phones. Even some Snapdragon 636 phones like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 offer better performance.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 has a under clocked SD 660 and yet it outperforms Redmi Note 7.

                              5. MIUI is worst OS of all. It has most bugs, most unstable, most heavy and battery draining OS.
Color OS isn't good either, but it gives you most control over your phone than any other OS (at least more than Funtouch, EMUI, MIUI and OneUI). That's why I was able to tweak it so much without root.

Because RN7 has better build quality (almost premium) where as Realme 3's back plastic can be scratched even with cloth.... RN7 has better rear camera, better software support, better display, USB type C with fast charging and better sound from speaker.... I'm currently RM3 so you don't have to protect the phone that you are using... Say the truth

It has lower performance, battery timing and bad built quality than Realme 3. There are a lot of issues reported about it as well. Read its reviews wherever you like.

You can see even in very low light environments but I haven't found any major difference in the normal mode shots... I prefer the Stock camera app which is stable, fast and image quality is also good... Don't relay on GCam before buying any phone...
