I WOULDENT take the risk if I were u I recommend going for xioami redmi note 8 it has bassicaly same specs but much better optimizations

asahi, 25 Oct 2020agree!, worst realme phone that has been released. The 5i.. tsk..Realme 2 also didn't age well this at first was quite good after update and a bit of age it sucks this is worst then realme 2 but realme 2 at least isn't that bad and isn't extremely laggy

Let me add some more tips:
If you need some apps to run in background:
1. Lock the app in recent apps (lock icon) (you can only lock 5 apps maximum)
2. Go to the app's app info screen and go to battery usage and check background usage
3. Go to settings then battery then app freeze and turn off ONLY THE APPS YOU WANT TO ALWAYS RUN IN BACKGROUND

some more tips:
Always/regularly use the phone manager to clean unwanted files. It will keep your storage free and also make tour phone faster
Always leave more than 5gb free storage. There will be annoying notification about it and your phone will REALLY slow down. I deleted files and now I have 10gb free storage and it's super fast. I'm telling you the performance is like night and day. This is realme's fault we can't use all our storage to our liking without drastically slowing our phone but yeah I'm just giving advice from my usage/experience.
I'll post more tips if I remember more.

Guys, update to the latest version and do these:
1.Reset system settings (won't delete any data, only phone settings)
2. Go to settings>battery and set everything to lowest possible performance in all settings found there
3. Go to settings battery and app freeze and check all apps for app freeze
4. Developer options > no background processes (in the bottom part) and set all 3 animations to 0.5x speed
That's what I did and my 5i became fast. Of course I don't open many apps simultaneously because the ram is only 3gb, it will slow down if many apps open.

Overall satisfied

DONT BUY REALME 5i. It sucks, before the phone is run smoothly hut after it's first update it is very lag. I did everything delete videos and apps but still lag. EVEN WHEN THERE IS AN UPDATE, THEY DIDIN'T FIX
