I use a cover, but no screen protector. It doesn't have any scratches on screen nor any crack or damage from falls.

    Battery wise, I only lose 0-1% battery at night. Very similar to when it was new. Its camera improved a lot after Android 10 update as well.
    I've never had any issue with performance or lag.
    I faced only 1 bug in 1 year, which was I couldn't take "Scroll Screenshot", but that was fixed in update as well.

    Realme OS is pretty good in terms of performance, battery, stability and it has no ads or bloatwares (other than Google Play Store & such).
    Realme phones always have better Performance/Benchmarks than MIUI phones with same specs/chipsets.

    But that's all to give you general idea that their phones are at least as robust as Xiaomi phones, if not better. You should NOT trust any brand blindly.

    Always see durability tests to find any signs that indicate fragility for long term use. Such as bending tests, water tests, drop tests, scratch tests etc. Gupta International System makes very good durability tests!

    PS: I recommend Redmi Note 8 Pro over Realme 6 for better cameras, especially the selfie camera.
    - RN8P has a Gcam developer that's making Gcam ports specifically for RN8 Pro, which gives it a huge advantage when it comes to cameras.
    - It also has more features like IR Blaster to control TV/AC & NFC.

    Realme 6 is recommended if you want better gaming performance with optimal battery & 90HZ display.

May be your device is faulty or need to update

I assume you haven't used a real 18W charging phone (Xiaomi 18W charging is 90% fake as it takes same amount of time to charge as 10W phones).

          Don't use phone while on charging & give it 10 minutes to cool down. Turn off Hotspot as well.

          Everything you can do to avoid throttling/overheating:

          1. Don't run games or something heavy while on charging.
          2. Give it 10 minutes to cool down after charging.
          3. Turn off Hotspot.
          4. Turn off GPS/Location.
          5. Turn off Mobile Data & play games on WiFi.
          6. Turn off Bluetooth.
          7. Use a low watt charger.
          8. Remove cover while playing games.
          9. Try to find a place where it's not as hot.
          10. Reduce Framerate of games.


          Note:
          Overheating/throttling is when Kernel restricts CPU & GPU frequencies to cool down the device.

          It results in major lag in games & may cause the device to reboot or power off if temperature exceeds safe limits.

Moreover i am more concerned about the Mediatek processor in it, do they start to lag or freeze after a year or so ? Previously used Redmi Note 5 Pro for 2 years which had SD chipset and had no issues with the hardware apart from software(MIUI bugs).

                          Hopefully this Realme phone is like you say it is.
                          Never had a 90Hz+ display and I am curious to try one. But don't want to spend 300EUR+ for a phone like that.

                            Hey guys I'm using realme 6 8/128gb version, It's battery is just wowww, 100% satisfied. People who are complaining about it does heat up believe me it doesn't.
                            Battery charging speed is simply awesome, in 1st attempt i didn't believe that but it does 100% in 55 minutes.
                            I usually do normal gaming and in normal gaming i haven't face any heating or lagging and if you are an extreme gamer then every phone produce heat so chill and buy 100% recommended.

                              One more thing, Realme UI is 10 times better than MiUI
                              Why?
                              Because:-
                              1) It has less to zero bloatware.
                              2) There are very few but useful gimmicks hence the UI is light.
                              3) The overall multitask and home usage feels like near stock experience.
                              4) Has much more colorful and popping default icons and wallpapers.
                              5) Has less and decent animations hence resulting in overall fluid experience.

Its not specific to gaming, to camera, to premium looks or anything like that. Its a perfect package of everything combined, even its aesthetics are better than Redmi note 9 pro. The narrow design feels premium and the punch hole camera on the corner suits much much better as it seems to blend in much better causing less distraction. I use a back cover and a glass protector, i never felt any overheating issues, i only felt the device very warm in hands when i was at a third pubg match. Still it was very usable. The cameras are really good for its price although the software of the camera could be better with an update because even if u turn of AI beauty, still in some 2x shots, the photos look like they are beautified. The selfie is really good. The ultrawide is awesome and the 240fps slowmo is good. There is ultra stable mode which works superb but u face a little loss of quality. Fingerprint is damn fast, seriously believe me. The 90hz is awesome and once u get the hang of it, there is never going back, if u use 90hz for a complete day and then use a 60hz, u will, immediately notice.
                                I would still recommend to go for Realme 6 but make sure u dont get a faulty unit. Ok. Overall its a great all rounder. But those focusing only on playing pubg for more than 4-5 hours and just that, go for Realme 6 pro, u would love it.

                                  Many people dont really understand the description of features of the efficiency etc...
                                  I will simply explain a day with my Realme 6.
                                  I woke up today at around 8am with a charge of 100% and my refresh rate is always kept at 90hz. I am a student so i attended three hours of live classes on MS TEAMS on my phone.
                                  I went out for breakfast, my xiaomi mi band 4 is always connected with BT and i also listened to some music in my via BT. At 12pm, my cats woke up, had a camera session with them, captured a video and couple photos, at evening, played some casual games like those subway surfers and piano tiles, and then watched two 45min long episodes, then had some tea, and played pubg with my buddy, two matches and its enough for me, then had to use maps cus had to go somewhere, then again random social media usage and then dinner and then did my assignment and submitted before 12am and right after submission my battery was at exact 20%. Thats how the battery is and for me its really good cuz it charges upto 100% in less than an hour only.

                                      Overall The phone is good .The camera is also good.but have issue with the night mode .also the screen brightness is not so high. Please fix these..

                                        Does this phone overheat when we play just normal games like temple run, subway surfer or sky force reloaded etc. I need to know because I'm going to buy this phone, u heard too much negative comments about this device.
