Realme announces Q2 Pro, Q2 and Q2i 5G mid-rangers
Realme has kicked off what is going to be a big week of phone announcements with a trio of affordable devices under the Q2 brand, all of them entirely new, with 5G capabilities and Android 10 out of the box.
The Realme Q2 Pro 5G is the most impressive of them all with an AMOLED panel and 65W fast-charging for its 4,300mAh battery. The Realme Q2 5G is the middle child, while the Realme Q2i 5G brings the next-gen connectivity at a price tag below CNY1,000 ($150).
Realme Q2 Pro 5G
The mightiest of the trio is called Realme Q2 Pro and comes with Dimensity 800U chipset and 8GB RAM under the hood. On the front, there is a 6.4” AMOLED panel with 1080p resolution, a single punch hole for the 16MP f/2.1 camera and a fingerprint scanner underneath.
The quad-cam setup on the back brings a 48MP f/1.8 main sensor, coupled with 8MP ultrawide-angle shooter and a couple of 2MP units - black and white and macro.
Other highlights of the Q2 Pro include a 3.5mm audio jack and dual nano-SIM slots. Prices are CNY1,799 ($265/€225) and CNY1,999 ($300/€250), for the 128GB and 256GB versions, respectively.
The phone is offered either in Gray leather with embossed “Dare to Leap” on the back or in C Color, which is a Rainbow gradient. There is a CNY200 discount for the early birds who reserve the phone now, with the first flash sale scheduled for October 21.
Realme Q2 5G
The regular Realme Q2 comes with a slightly bigger panel on the front - a 6.5” LCD, meaning the fingerprint scanner made its way on the side. Just like its Pro big bro, the vanilla Q2 has a Dimensity 800U chip but it comes with either 4GB or 6GB RAM while the storage is 128GB.
The Q2 has the same 48MP main camera and 8MP ultrawide snapper, but only gets one of the 2MP extra units - for macro. A 16MP selfie snapper on the front is nested in a punch hole in the left corner.
The Realme Q2 brings more battery capacity - 5,000 mAh but the fast-charging rate is “only” 30W which is still nicely speedy.
The phone is officially listed for CNY1,299 ($200/€165) or CNY1,399 ($210/€175), but both variants have an initial discount of CNY100. There are two colors - Blue and Silver - and the phone’s first flash sale is scheduled for October 19.
Realme Q2i 5G
The Realme Q2i brings the 5G connectivity to new affordable levels - the device starts from CNY998 ($147/€125). For that price, the brand gives you a device with a Dimensity 720 chipset, 4GB RAM, and 128GB storage.
There are three cameras on the back, lined up with the LED flash in a square setup. The main shooter has a 13MP sensor, while two 2MP snappers are here to make the numbers, although they are officially said to help with macro and portrait shots. The front-facing camera is mounted on a waterdrop notch and has an 8MP sensor and f/2.0 aperture.
The Q2i is built around a 6.52” LCD with 720p resolution. The buttons are on the right-hand side, while the fingerprint scanner on the back.
There is a 5,000 mAh battery inside that comes with 18W fast charging support.
The Realme Q2i will be launched for its first flash sale on October 21 and you can select one of two colors - Blue or Silver, both of which have some triangular shapes on the back to make the panel a bit fancier.
