If ever micro sd cards do break, the slot isn't compromised. Same case for headphone jacks. Going by that logic if they have to remove mechanical parts why haven't they removed the charging port already?
Why even make a device with an additional 4/96 points of failure in the first place?

For the sake of the device my ass, those things don't break nearly as much as you're implying. That 3 month figure has no basis at all. But for the sake of discussion, let's say they did break. Components should be repairable when the device is designed with it in mind. They aren't cuz it's more profitable to sell new devices.

I'm also gonna pretend the 4k60fps video recording manufacturers so eagerly brag about takes up only 20GB.

I'm fine with the 1TB, plenty enough for me not to need an sd card myself. But I respect that some people may need it, last I checked it was hella more convenient to plug in microsd cards straight from a camera to a phone for convenient checking/uploads and other similar use cases.
Just please don't defend the lack of features. Especially on high-end (very expensive) phones with a quarter of the storage and no sd card expandability. Microsd card expandability is cheap, reliable, and convenient, what good reason would people have to reject such features?

    You comparing apples and pears.
    Breaking memory card by often popping it into device and tossing it out will usually happens withing forst 3 months of use if you at least twice a week plug out and plug in your memory card.
    Breaking internal memory yes if you drunk your clumsy can happens too but in a normal phone use this is rare like coconut dropped from a tree kills a human.

    There is nothing like offline environment in a 512GB or 1TB storage device.
    Only fans of a P*rn hub or redtube or freevideo.cz etc site needs this much space. Photos, videos even aps wont cost this much.
    Reason they remove memory slot option is for sake of device. Mechanical parts are first to breaks. Just like they removed pop up camera, they removed SD slot, Jack etc. Mechanical parts always and everywhere are first to break.
    Simple reason why Honor foldable have 4 parts in hinge and Samsung uses 96. Thuis 92 difference means Samsung foldables much easy to break and thus much worse device for casual use.

    Currently google without notice change their term, you didnt have control your file on direct level. That reason microsd is still relevant.
    Huge internal is pointless when they using QLC as internal.
    Lastly this is based on your false statement, If you know what you do and how you do you still can do litterary everything but for ordinary user not a tech geek this could be a little bit difficult.

        Your argument are big flaw in here, the purpose of microsd is not as main storage, but secondary storage aka backup solution specifically on offline environment.

            Given the same price, I'd say the RN12 Turbo is overall a better buy, which has a 3.5mm jack and WiFi 6. And it has a slimmer design. But this one's got a higher resolution so depends on what you value more.

                    Having the SDslot is not about speed it's about convenience of moving data (Music library, pics, documents...) from one phone to another, instantly without having to rely on Data connection or WiFi or cloud storage or paying for Spotify...
                    Man like pluggin in cable is really that difficut. Great and even wifi 5 or newest wifi 6 is many times over gfaster than garbage memory card.

                    Said storage si cheap too maybe apart 1 and 2 TB memory cards. But you can always use OTG cable and connect whathewer you can.
                    You bragging for nothing for worse solutions. Card can break and can break easily when offten popped out or into a device when that happens you have no option just to format your card and loose all data.
