how long does realme provide os/security patches for their phone though? not everyone uses custom rom.

For the Realme, you should go to the settings and enable the OTG functions, while on Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Redmi, Poco, Honor, Huawei, OTG is automatically activated when you plug a USB drive

I've lived to see a new one...beside the standard "no audio jack or micros SD no buy", now it's "no 8k no buy"...lol. what the hell, it's a smart phone from the high mid range and the 8k standard is far from universal adoption anyway, not even 4k is fully adopted. Get over it people, soon all audio jacks or micro sd slots will be eliminated and 8k is years away from becoming standard on mobile phones. Just imagine the space a 5 minutes video would take.
I would rather be interested if the 120 hz refresh rate will be unlocked for gaming, battery life, temperature not 8k.

Technogeek, 25 Mar 2022Redmi k50 has screen with much better resolution and better... moreThey trade the display with better main camera. The K50 have same sensor to F3 and its pretty mediocre, really, its less than decent in 2022.
On paper K50 have better display but lets see until few people reviewing it. My F3 display is nothing compared to my S7 Edge which coming from few years before. The resolution will not too differ except you're coming from 2K phone previously.

However as human we have our instinct to climb from this trap; converter from USB to 3.5mm jack are available with various price with or without DAC, depending from our needs and phone capability (not all USB-C sending analog sounds).
Audiophiles are happy with the support from Android to enable this USB out so they can directly use hi-end DAC easier without the needs of changing OS kernel.
