Mid-range and entry level phones are being produced and sold with higher numbers than flagship phones. So in theory their should be a higher failure rate in low-mid range phones because of their higher battery capacity, yet we don't see that. I would argue that the failure rates are higher in flagship phones due to more complicated designs and over-engineering. Low-mid range phones tend to have simpler designs just to satisfy their purpose. So I don't think it is really related to company image, because if it is, then low-mid range phones would never have bigger batteries.
