LG Nexus 5 review: Back to the future

13 November 2013
Nexus phone releases are timed to let Google have the last word – and what a way to have it! A phone that matches any flagship on specs and premieres the latest OS version, but costs barely half as much as some of them. The Nexus 5 promises a....

okay gsmarena. not having a user replaceable battery is not a major wow. You guess been complaining about that for a while. If it really was such a amazing then why does most devices are non-removable battery. So obviously no one cares.

Bought a Nexus5 in the Italian store and Google now tells me that I cannot get a replacement where I live now in Holland. If you are buying a Google product in Europe watch out for their (illegal!) replacement process which essentially prevent you for getting a replacement within the 2 years, in case you move out of the country.

The LG Nexus 5 is NOT meant to be used by power users. This phone is for your average user.

The small battery cripples this phone. What good is a thin phone if you have to carry a charger with you? This is a charge-twice-a-day phone.

Then again, there is nothing wrong with Google Android 4.2.2. Staying on that OS version isn't going to kill you. Unless you are the type of person who wants the latest thing.

I'm in the market to buy a new phone and currently doing research. Watched vids on YouTube comparing the Nexus 5 to the iPhone 5S, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and the LG G2. I'm still researching and plan on buying my phone after December 3, 2013 (new Canadian wireless rules go into effect). The OS is awesome, it's sad that the camera and the video are sub par. Do you guys think it's a good idea to wait until LG makes tweaks to this device?

wow why are apple fanboys claiming the iPhone 5S is better. Sorry to bust your bubble its not. To keep it fair compare the iPhone 5S to Moto X. Its the only android device that specs are low enough to keep from overwhelming the poor lil iPhone
