I'm from India and I just managed to pick up the dual sim 16GB Moto G from Flipkart at INR 13999 and a white flip cover at a 70% discount at INR 480 today at the first day of launch. I'm pretty excited. Can't wait for the delivery. (Which btw has been extended to 17th Feb by 10 days :( ...)
They sold out in an hour in the morning. I finally managed to get my order placed in the afternoon. A lot of people (and I mean a lot; check out the flipkart comments section) have been complaining about the shortage of supply (16GB version and royal blue flip cover mostly)
Is this just a marketing strategy? Creating shortage and claiming they have sold out just to hike up sales?

I am moving from 2.3.6 Gingerbread to 4.3 Jellybean . I have researched a lot in price range of 10000₹-20000₹..and it has proved to be the best pick ...i have also got a Lumia 625 and its bigger and also a great choice ..

When this device is comming to saudia....very bad marketing by Motorola team....still I have not seen publicity or any news of this device is launching soon...

I don't mind waiting for the UK updatebut the rollout appears to be a bit confusing.
We have 3 Moto Gs in our house bought in the following order
1st - 8GB sim free from phones4u.
2nd - 16GB Tesco Pay Monthly.
3rd (my handset) - 16GB Tesco pay as you go - unlocked and clashed with stock UK ROM.
The only handset to have received the UK update so far is the 16GB Tesco mobile one. I thought having a stock ROM means you get the updates first so Im very confused.
I can only guess that the update is being offered to certain batches of IMEIs at a time to reduce server loads.
Can anyone shed some light on this odd situation.

Anyway I just want to say that there is smart dialing. Just enable it in settings. It was part of the 4.3 update. Moto G is sure to have it, using stock Android and all. Already confirmed this on another site.

this is a great budget phone. but acts like an S3 on speed. and now the Kitkat update is out in the uk. great phone must buy. budget price, high end performance. well done motorola.

I plan on getting mine this week. Like others have said, it is a bargain because it focuses on essentials. No LTE - minor niggle.
Just one thing though: 4.7" is becoming the smallest screen outside of an Apple device. This is a shame I feel.

I love my moto g! Amazing phone, great price. I had a xperia SP and a lumia 820 before moto g.

Too much disappointed. it's 27th December and still no news about the release in India. Even their fb page is also not saying anything but "will be released in early January".
