07 February 2014
Samsung's pole position in smartphones doesn't necessarily mean a win in tablets but it sure is an advantage and the Koreans won't give up on it easily. The Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is standing at the very top of a lineup, whose fourth generation has hit the fast...

AnonD-223039, 17 Feb 2014I think Samsung must even bigger for the note series. They ... moreThese tablets would die trying to run those applications. They would need to write a version almost from scratch, or gut one version to bring it to feature parity with the Mobile version and then start adding stuff little by little - the way Apple did with iWork. Aperture and iPhoto are going away with iCloud Photo coming, and it's basically a Mobile app ported to the desktop - they aren't going the other way around and bringing Aperture to iOS...

This thing is AWESOME!! Picked one up for $600CDN. The spen is fantastic for productivity, presenting and teaching!! Blows my iPad air literally into thin air. Battery life gets me through two days. And hey it actually has a file management system. Oh and macbook air doesn't even compare to this. Buying a TABLET for a completely different purpose!! This tablet takes watching movies, reading and most importantly getting work done to an entirely different level. Highly recommended!!

If that 2560x1600 screen was an AMOLED I might forgive it being Pentile matrix for having true blacks etc but pairing it in a LCD is misleading at best and dishonest at worst. Horizontal and vertical lines that look completely sharp on standard RGB stripe on my iPad Air ends up looking slightly fuzzy on my brother's Note Pro 12.2.

The size and precision is perfectly awesome for CAD, drawing, painting, note taking and even reading and browsing. I want a Snapdragon 805 version though.

I dont know what mean when this review wrote on battery test "#The Apple iPad Air does go 40 minutes longer on the web test and three hours more on the video test, but the same screen size considerations apply.#"

The ipad air 9.7" while note 10.1 2014 is 10.1" and pro is 12.2".

What does mean same screen size?

Anybody who buys this brick must be insane. It is almost the same weight as a macbook air 11" and the price is not very far too. i prefer anytime to buy a macbook air instead of this android brick. not talking here about the sound quality and raw power on headphones at macbook air

The touch sensitivity on the note pro is pathetic when using fingers to navigate

At this price, I can get a Microsoft Surface Pro 2 running full Windows with a USB 3 port, kickstand and a type cover.

I think Samsung should consider something to counter the Surface. I've tested this. Overall good, but not a full productive like those new 8" Intel Atom running full Windows.

It's kinda stupid to state in the disadvantages that it is big. If it was bigger than other 12.2'' tablets (if there where any) then the statement would have some meaning. But you are reviewing a 12.2 inch tablet ofcourse it's bigger, that is suppose to be the advantage for people interested.. not the disatvantage
