after reading this article, I looked into improvements with browser performance of M8 from K to L.
after several researches, I found out sunspider(javascript test) shows big regression on Lollipop. how is it possible performance regressed at sunspider while improved at kraken? any idea from anybody?

this product seems to be what everyone was waiting for... but after the honeymoon is over a break up is inevitable. The warranty service is a scam. Sending a phone off to be repaired, warranty or not, is a huge inconvenience. No one else will touch HTC phones because they are impossible for anyone else to fix. Something about the code. Perhaps I a, spoiled because i never had issues with my iphome and it works perfectly now, even 4 years later... except it is slow. The HTC One is fast until its not. Takes great photos umtil it doesn't- due to a cheap Plastic UV film that covers the lens and is basically just a slick looking gimmick. I don't support companies that offer products whose tasty shelf life doesn't extend much beyond its faux warranty period. Everyone warned us when we semt our phone off for the cracked screen warranty repair... that they would try to stick us with additional charges... which they did. A month later they are finally returning the phone unrepaired because they would not repair the screen unless we paid them another $160. for a new motherboard. Now we are stuck in a contract paying off this crappy phone. Our solution? we are using the money we could have sent HTC and purchasing an ipod touch and a cheap flip phone. HTC will go down like the Hindenburg because its customet service,is nothing more, than hot air.

I agree with everything mentioned in this review. My biggest peeve is not having an easily replaceable battery. My next phone purchase will place this requirement near the top of the list.
The camera quality means squat to me. If you want to take great pics, get a real camera.....

Camera phones are not meant to replace point-and-shoot or DSLR.
This camera gives users far more manual control over photos. So maybe the problem is not optimized automatic settings. This camera is clearly intended more for indoor use, such as at dinner parties, bars, etc. Where a person wants to avoid flash for the most natural photo. After all, who uses zoom in an indoor space in low light? Even the best dslrs you have to spend a significant amount on good lenses and sensors.
In terms of the outdoor performance, changing to manual settings you can set ISO, shutter speed, and other settings which can significantly improve the picture quality. These are options unavailable on most camera phones. I see why real photographers comment more positively about this camera phone, because they can use the manual controls to get the best possible quality pic. Other camera phones you are at the mercy of the software choosing the best settings.

The power is awesome. I love it's speed and the audio quality. Nothing comparable to my m8. And my phone has been updated to 4g too. So it's future proof too. I'm from Chennai.

When I think of plastic "toys" I think of the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX. When I think of "pretty" I think of the iPad Air. When I think of practicality and productivity, I think of Samsung. When I think of design and protection Htc does it of top-notch

I bought this phone over S5 and am very happy with my decision.
Reasons for giving it 5 stars:
-It has a great design and build. Metal body is great and feels very premium.
-sense UI is ok; however, the optimisations done by HTC are great. The UI is super smooth and very responsive. It is even better than an IPhone.
-battery life is pretty good. It is better at times than my previous phone(Note 2)
-fast processor makes every task blazing fast
-Camera is very good for everyday use (phone is never meant to replace the DSLR)
-There is not too much bloatware
-great sound and speaker quality
-motion gestures are useful and convenient (not too many, just right)
-touch screen customisable (if rooted) navbar buttons
Some drawbacks:
-The low pixel count in camera, might be a problem for some who use this as only camera
-Screen is not as Vibrant as AMOLED screens.
I would sincerely recommend this to anyone who wants to buy a high end phone.
